Education:

• B.Sc/ Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery/Orthopedic or MBBS from BMDC recognized institute with one year internship completed.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in reputed hospital/cardiac center on which 05 years as Deputy Nursing Superintendent/Matron. Experience may be relaxed for MBBS candidates.

• Age 35 to 45 years

• Overall performance will be formally assessed and reviewed regularly, with additional assessment taking place as necessary. Key assessment criteria are as follows:
• Demonstrated competency in the patient - focused care and problem solving Commensurate with the ICHRI Competency Standards.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated involvement in professional development of self and others.
• Knowledge of and involvement in evidence based practice through quality improvement.
• Punctuality in attendance and attention to patient care.
• Experience in Cardiac ICU/CCU/Cardiac OT/ Cath Lab/Cardiac Emergency may be preferred.

Job Summary: 

The incumbent is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for his/her duties. He/she is responsible for providing Nursing Services to the patients and implementing proper nursing services protocol. He/she has to plan, assess, implement and evaluate patient care and take necessary measure for the improvement of nursing services. He/she will co- ordinate and supervise the duties of Nurses and Paramedic as per hospital protocol. He/She will ensure proper environment of clinical practice. Carry out other tasks as assigned by any other competent authority. 

Essential Function:

•  Ensuring attendance of registered nurses and helping hands in every shift (at least 15 minutes before to the shift start) at the duty station in proper uniform.
• To ensure about the hand over / taking over by following the procedural guideline.
• If any history of incident during previous shift occur, then take necessary action accordingly.
• To ensure about the preparation of the patients regarding the special investigation / operation.
• To ensure about the general cleanliness of the ward/Cabin.
• For improvement of the nursing care, arrange proper distribution of nursing staffs.
• Help the ward in- charges in preparing duty Rota and ensure its implementation.
• Ensure that all the equipment’s are standing by position in all respect.
• Examine the information board to ensure that everything is in correct position.
• Examine list of the supplied medicine to ensure that required medicine are supplied accordingly.
• Examine the list of emergency medicines which are not supplied by indoor pharmacy.
• Co-ordinate the ward in-charges regarding the timing of ward round with consultation to the respective professor / consultant.
• Take necessary steps for logistic supply to the ward/Cabin in time.
• Ensure that morning statement is sent accordingly.
• Ensure that specimen are sent carefully, accordingly and in time.
•  Help the ward in-charges to keep and maintenance record of the stock ledger properly.
• Ensure and arrange the repairing of equipment’s as and when needed.
•  Ensure food supply to the patients in time as advised.
• Ensure and examine that care of new patients / post-operative patients / CAG patients / PCI patients are is being provided accordingly.
• Ensure that the emergency nursing care is given according to the patients’ condition.
• Take necessary steps regarding visitor control.
• To examine and ensure sterilization and autoclave of equipments before using accordingly.
• Ensure that all reports are written properly and to provide help if required.
• Maintenance secrecy of the disease and patients condition accordingly.
• Ensure discard & destroy of the disposable items accordingly.
• To encourage the duty nurses about patients care regarding the severe sick patient by collecting respective information of the patients.
• To supervise the nurses and to help to increase / improve the patients care or nursing care.
• In all respect all the patients (male - female) from any religion are served accordingly.
• To help and co- ordinate regarding the improvement of the professional to the nursing staff and helping hand.
• To ensure that all duties done according to the assignment book accordingly.
• To ensure and observe regarding share of the present condition of patient to the relative / attendance accordingly by the registered nurse.
• To ensure and observe that the guideline to the ward are maintaining properly and if required necessary action to be taken.
• Ensure the counseling of the patients regarding health.
• Observe that all the chart are prepared accordingly regarding proper nursing care
• To ensure regarding the record / information of the unauthorized dead body.
• To observe and ensure that all patients are advised according to the discharge certificate during discharge by the respective nurse.
•  Ensure arrangement of counseling of rehabilitation of the patients.
•  Ensure the environment of education to the trainee and distribution of the staff accordingly.
•  Improve the clinical practices with the help of the clinical supervisor.
• Taking proper steps to improve the wards and cabins as model ward and inform the authority time to time.
