Manager Budget and Financial Control

• Age 30 to 45 years

Lead budgeting, cash planning and financial control so management has reliable forecasts, timely budget clearance and clear visibility of available resources, commitments and significant variances.

· Coordinate the annual budget process and consolidate departmental and program budgets into the organizational budget.

· Prepare forecasts, cash-flow projections and funding requirements using current plans and financial information.

· Review proposals for budget availability and provide documented budget clearance where required before approval.

· Monitor income, expenditure and commitments against approved budgets and identify significant variances early.

· Prepare concise budget-performance, cash-flow, cost and financial-control analysis for management review.

· Coordinate cash positioning, banking and treasury requirements with the Accounts function and responsible management.

· Strengthen approval workflows, segregation of duties and other financial controls and follow up relevant audit or control issues.

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognized university.

· At least 3 years of relevant experience in budgeting, forecasting, treasury, financial control, accounts or financial management.

· Demonstrated experience preparing budgets, cash-flow forecasts, variance analysis and management reports; progress toward CA, ACCA or CMA will be an advantage.

· Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, variance analysis and financial-control capability.

· Advanced spreadsheet skills and the ability to build clear, reliable financial models and reports.

· Sound understanding of authorization, documentation, segregation of duties and control principles.

· Strong analytical judgement, accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.

· Clear communication and the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
