Experience:

• At least 2 years

• Diploma in Medical Technology (Lab)

• At least 2 years

• Age At most 35 years

• Emergency / Refugee context working experience will add an advantage.

• Multi-lingual skills with priority placed on English and Local Chittagonian Languages.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

GK was created in 1972 with two visions. Firstly, "the fate of the poor decides the fate of the country". Secondly, "development of the country depends on the development of women". Since 2017, Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) and UNHCR have entered a partnership to respond to the Rohingya crisis in Cox Bazar and Bhasanchar.

Job Location: Teknaf/ Ukhiya/ Bhasanchar, Noakhali

Overall responsibilities:

• Participate in quality assurance planning of the laboratory

• Plan and prepare annual and quarterly logistics requirements for the laboratory

• Support preparing quality assurance tools and guidelines in line with the national guidelines.

• Support higher management in decision-making.

• Maintain essential safety measures for infection control in the laboratory

• Maintain optimum standards in smearing and microscopy following the SOP and guidelines

• Ensure maintenance of microscope and other laboratory equipment as per the SOP and guidelines

• Ensure availability of anti-TB drugs, reagents, and other logistics at the laboratory

• Refer presumptive and complicated cases to designated facilities for further diagnosis

• Support in EQA and slide-recheckingEnsure hygienic disposal of waste materials

• Maintain contact tracing register for active case findings and refer presumptive cases to the nearby diagnostic facility

• Assist govt. MT (Lab.) at UHC lab, whenever necessary

• Any other job as required by the project.

• Maintain regular coordination with related stakeholders;

• Record results in respective forms and register and report promptly to the requesting staff;

• Ensure complete and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting as per the guidelines.

Special Note:

Carry out any additional assignment in accordance with her/his position entrusted by the Facility Manager of GK management from time to time and mutually agreed upon;

Management may, at any point in time, modify this job description as it is deemed necessary in Gonoshastha Kendra`s interests in consultation with an incumbent.
