Role Summary
The IT Operations & Security Engineer manages all core IT infrastructure, cloud systems, identity and access management, security monitoring, Odoo customisation support, and day-to-day IT operations across Technovative Solutions (TVS) and its entities. This role is critical for supporting ISO 27001 readiness, GDPR compliance, operational security, and business continuity initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
A. IT Infrastructure & Operations Management
- Manage on‑prem servers, research data centre equipment, cloud servers (Digital Ocean, AWS, Azure, GCP), storage, and networking.
- Maintain and optimise Kubernetes clusters, VPN, WAF, IDS/IPS, and firewall configurations.
- Apply secure configurations, patching, hardening, and baseline compliance checks.
B. Cloud & Application Management
- Administer Workspace, M365, Slack, Zoom, Odoo, Jira, GitHub, GitLab.
- Perform identity lifecycle management and enforce MFA and conditional access.
C. Security & Compliance (ISO 27001 + GDPR)
- Support ISO 27001 Annex A control implementation.
- Operate access control, password, encryption, backup, and vulnerability management policies.
- Assist in internal audits, evidence collection and risk assessment documentation.
D. Risk Assessment & Security Operations
- Conduct periodic vulnerability scans, remediation follow-up, and root-cause analysis.
- Triage alerts, respond to incidents, maintain SIEM dashboards.
E. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Operate backup systems, test restore capability, and support DR drills.
F. IT Helpdesk & User Lifecycle Support
- Lead IT onboarding/offboarding, access revocation, asset return and account setup.
- Provide Level 2–3 support; maintain asset inventory.
G. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Evaluate technology vendors, collect compliance documentation, track renewals, and ensure alignment with Vendor Management Policy.
Required Experience
- 4–5 years hands-on IT operations / security engineering experience.
- Strong Linux/Windows administration background.
- Experience managing cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/DO/GCP).
- Kubernetes management and troubleshooting.
- Experience in Odoo or similar ERP systems.
- Exposure to ISO 27001 or SOC 2 environments.
- Knowledge of GDPR operational requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
- Cloud server management, Kubernetes, networking, VPN, WAF.
- Programming/scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Database fundamentals (MySQL/Postgres).
- Identity & Access Management.
Security Skills:
- SIEM monitoring, vulnerability scanning, log analysis.
- Secure baseline hardening (CIS).
- Understanding of ISO 27001 Annex A controls.
- Data protection and encryption practices.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and documentation capability.
- Ability to manage cross-team collaboration.
- Strong accountability and attention to detail.
