Responsibilities & Context:

MUST HAVE GSD LICENSE

To conduct and manage activities which enhance the factory’s operational performance by determining the most effective ways to utilize its resources across people, equipment, materials, information and energy within the guidelines, code of conduct and limits of the organization policies. 

Position Inter-linkages within the organization outside the organization: • Production team• Quality team• Technical services team • Account management team • Product development team • Maintenance team • Planning team • Merchandising team

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Pre-Production Planning 
  • Review line layout basis the bulletin and confirmation from the merchandising team on order receipt
  • Understand the order and project the number and type of machines required for the project
  • Review capacity planning for the production plan given by the planning team and share the same with Operation Manager
  • Maintain skill inventory basis pre-defined parameters
  • Review IE Executives meetings and discussions with the operations team; give necessary inputs as and when required
  • Review feeding plan before and after handover to the technician and oversee transfer of the plan as per timelines     
  • Achievement of production target
  • Skill update hit rate
  • Production management:
  • Prepare manpower plan based on production forecasts; Share with supervisor for review
  • Conduct manpower balancing on a periodic basis to ensure resource availability and optimization
  • Follow up on production capacity to identify the bottle neck in operations; Take appropriate corrective measures in case of deviations
  • Review production target achievement before and after handover to the operations team; Raise concern in case of deviations
  • Prepare layout, skill updating and capacity planning documents
  • Achievement of planned hit rate
  • Changeover hit rate
  • Minimum loss of production hours
  • Accuracy of documentation
  • Engineering:
  • Design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and control product quality
  • Observe working on the floor; Review identified areas of improvement to reduce cost and time; Validate the same with supervisor; Implement approved ideas on the floor
  • Inform all stakeholders in Operations of the approved idea and its benefits for eg: (Inform costing to change in database)
  • Studies / observations conducted – timelines and quality
  • Training and development:
  • On board new hires and assign them to training sessions
  • Organize training for new operators and IE team members
  • Conduct on-job and off the job training
  • Identify future training needs and create curriculum to facilitate that training
  • Skill gap ratio
  • People Management:
  • Manage the discipline within the team members in the operations floor
  • Process improvement:
  • Gather inputs from IE executives, production team and quality team on process improvement and efficiency ideas
  • Validate suggestions and share relevant with supervisors for approval
  • Implement relevant measures for process efficiency improvement

  • Track team performance at an overall and individual level and provide support/ guidance wherever required to ensure achievement of yearly plans
