∎ BACKGROUND OF GONOSHASTHAYA KENDRA:
∎ Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) is a registered Public Charitable Trust, established in 1972 and is one of the oldest non-governmental, non-profit, and national-level organizations in Bangladesh. As a people-oriented healthcare-based non-governmental organization, GK provides community and institutional services in various fields, including healthcare, women empowerment, disaster management, education, agriculture, and basic rights-based advocacy.
∎ GK, in collaboration with its partner organization, action medeor (AM) has been involved actively to improve the health situation of target groups of elderly persons as well as children`s since 2022.
∎ Currently, GK is implementing a project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and action medeor titled "Improving the physical and mental health of children and adolescents as well as older persons in Teknaf Upazila, Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh." The main goal of this project is to enhance health and living conditions of children and older people in 15 rural host communities in Cox`s Bazaar.
∎ Under the project component targeting children and youth, the project works with a total of around 250 Shishu Parishads, which, guided by the project`s local community mobilizers, meet regularly, conduct joint activities, and in addition function to share knowledge on various topics (children`s rights, health, etc.).
∎ As a next step, the project concept includes the formation of a Union Shishu Parishad through a democratic election process by Shishu Parishad members as direct voters. This procedure is unique and experimental and will be implemented among children at Baharchara Union under Teknaf Upazila for the first time. The objective of this activity is to teach children the democratic process through a joyful environment from childhood where children will be able to practice democracy among themselves. When these children will be grown up and lead the society or state, then their mindset will be democratic. On the other hand, important rights of children will be established, and democratic culture will develop in the society.
∎ To organize and implement above objective/activity effectively, GK intends to engage a qualified Technical Officer who will contribute expertise on Children Election, Children rights and Child protection.
∎ Objective:
∎ The main objective of this assignment is to enhance the knowledge and understanding of GK-AM staff, stakeholders and children on child election and its implementing process. The Technical Officer will be responsible for planning, developing different guideline /module, organizing and conduct orientation/workshop/training, sensitizing children and other stakeholders, implementing other relevant activities in the community level.
∎ The primary work location will be the GK project office in Shamlapur, Teknaf, Cox`s bazar.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare all the necessary materials and equipment and ensure that everything is ready before starting the activities at the Community level and /or facility level.
∎ Organize medical camp and direct support to patients while they will be waiting for the physician;
∎ Assist to the physician during the medical campaign and as per need;
∎ Collect data from patient and record them in the health card and maintains register khata
∎ Take weight, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure for all the patients who have been registered for medical consultation.
∎ Ensure that all pregnant mother identified services are provided;
∎ Health Facilitator will accompany the old person with basic vital signs and symptoms;
∎ Health Facilitator will identify the basic vital sign and symptoms for the pregnant mother;
∎ Health Facilitator will identify dangerous sign of the pregnant mother if the referral is needed and refer following the referral path way;
∎ Health Facilitator will accompany the old person for investigations & physiotherapy.
∎ Dispensing Medications.
∎ Maintain stock of medicines and contraceptives
∎ Maintain stock for all clinical equipment.
∎ Ensure patient confidentiality is respected and manage all the patients with respect and dignity.
∎ Health Facilitator will support to Health Mobilizer to mobilize Children, form Child Club, conduct Shishu Parishad meetings, Sports material distribution, organize campaign, organize different event including organize sports and day observances in the field level
∎ Health Facilitator will support to Health Mobilizer to form elder people group, conduct meeting / Uthan Baithak, campaign and day observance
∎ Health Facilitator will be responsible for the proper use and maintenance of assigned equipment.
∎ Monitor the elderly people group, child club and pregnant woman.
∎ Ensure quality report for all activities within the time
∎ Other activity will have to do as per project need.

Salary:
∎ The gross monthly salary is 20,000 BDT per month.
