KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial position.
  • Proven experience in independently managing and operating an international examination/testing centre.
  • Hands-on experience with PTE, IELTS, or other international examinations is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in learning and development, professional training, soft-skills training, executive education, or organizational development.
  • Experience in developing and coordinating organization-wide training programmes.
  • Experience managing external trainers, consultants, institutions, and international partners.
  • Strong understanding of examination security, compliance, quality assurance, and audit requirements.
  • Experience in business development and revenue generation within the education, training, assessment, or professional learning sector will be an advantage.

Responsibilities & Context:

Reporting to: CEO, STS Group

Description: STS Academy is the professional learning, executive education, and international assessment arm of STS Capital Limited, established to bridge global standards with local talent development in Bangladesh. The Academy focuses on international examination services, professional development, executive education, leadership development, and organization-wide learning initiatives.

The Head of STS Academy will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Academy, ensuring the effective delivery and growth of its examination services, professional and soft-skills training, executive education, and learning and development programmes across STS Group.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of STS Academy to lead the overall operations, development, and growth of STS Academy.

The incumbent will have overall responsibility for managing international examination and testing centre operations, including PTE, IELTS, and other relevant assessments, while also leading the design, coordination, and delivery of soft-skills, professional, leadership, and executive development programmes across the organization.

The role will work closely with the leadership team, school/department heads, HR, academic teams, and external training and examination partners to identify learning needs, develop annual training plans, coordinate organization-wide training, and ensure measurable impact from learning initiatives.

The successful candidate should have proven experience in independently managing an international testing centre, preferably with hands-on experience in PTE, IELTS, or similar examination operations, along with strong leadership experience in training, learning and development, or professional education.

Duties & Responsibilities:

I. Strategic Leadership of STS Academy

  • Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for STS Academy.

  • Develop and implement the Academy’s annual business, training, examination, and development plans.

  • Establish the Academy as a high-quality platform for professional learning, executive education, leadership development, and international assessment.

  • Develop new programmes, partnerships, and services aligned with organizational and market needs.

  • Manage the Academy’s budget, resources, revenue targets, and overall performance.

  • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for new training, assessment, and professional development services.

II. International Examination & Testing Centre Management

  • Take overall responsibility for the operation and development of the Academy’s examination/testing centre(s).

  • Independently oversee the delivery of PTE, IELTS, and other international examinations and assessments.

  • Ensure strict compliance with the standards, policies, and procedures of relevant examination bodies, including Pearson and IELTS partners.

  • Ensure examination integrity, security, confidentiality, candidate verification, CCTV monitoring, and proper test-day procedures.

  • Lead the preparation for examination-board audits, inspections, accreditation, and quality assurance reviews.

  • Manage examination centre capacity, scheduling, staffing, infrastructure, technology, and operational resources.

  • Monitor candidate experience, examination performance, incidents, and compliance.

  • Identify opportunities to increase examination volume, centre utilization, and revenue.

III. Organization-Wide Training & Learning

  • Lead the planning and coordination of training and development programmes across STS Group.

  • Work with HR and respective departments to identify organizational learning and development needs.

  • Develop an annual Group-wide Training Calendar covering soft skills, professional skills, leadership, management, technical, and other relevant training programmes.

  • Coordinate with school/department heads to schedule and deliver training with minimum disruption to operations.

  • Identify and engage appropriate internal and external trainers, consultants, institutions, and training partners.

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of training programmes, including needs assessment, trainer selection, scheduling, logistics, participant coordination, and evaluation.

  • Maintain a centralized record of training programmes, participation, costs, feedback, and learning outcomes.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training programmes and recommend improvements.

IV. Soft Skills, Leadership & Executive Education

  • Develop and deliver/coordinate programmes on communication, leadership, management, teamwork, emotional intelligence, customer service, presentation skills, workplace professionalism, and other relevant soft skills.

  • Develop leadership and management development programmes for academic and non-academic leaders.

  • Coordinate executive education initiatives for senior leaders and management.

  • Build partnerships with local and international institutions to bring high-quality learning opportunities to STS Group.

  • Explore customized learning solutions based on the needs of different schools, departments, and business units.

V. Business Development & Partnerships

  • Develop strategic partnerships with international examination bodies, universities, professional institutions, training providers, and corporate organizations.

  • Identify opportunities to expand examination services and professional learning programmes beyond STS Group.

  • Promote STS Academy’s training, examination, and executive education services.

  • Develop new revenue-generating programmes and services.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders and partners.

VI. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, manage, and develop the STS Academy team, including examination, training, and administrative staff.

  • Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations for the team.

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members as required.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation across examination and training operations.

  • Foster a culture of professionalism, integrity, continuous learning, and service excellence.

VII. Quality Assurance, Compliance & Governance

  • Establish appropriate quality standards and operating procedures for all Academy activities.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant examination-body requirements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.

  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, examination security, data protection, and professional ethics.

  • Conduct regular reviews of Academy operations and implement corrective and continuous improvement measures.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation and reporting are maintained for audit and management purposes.

VIII. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on Academy performance, including:

  • o Examination operations and candidate volumes

  • o Training programmes and participation

  • o Training costs and budgets

  • o Revenue and business development

  • o Participant feedback and satisfaction

  • o Learning outcomes and impact

  • o Compliance and audit performance

  • Establish and monitor KPIs for STS Academy.

  • Provide recommendations to senior management on future learning, assessment, and development initiatives.
