∎ At least 2 years of experience in media and/or communication in development/humanitarian sectorExperience in organizing a hackathon or national/regional events will be preferable.Knowledge of the humanitarian context in BangladeshAny experience relevant to design or Photoshop experience will be treated as value additionExperience in capturing audio, video and photography from different events and consultations.Experiences in production of press release, media brief, blog and vlogStrong analytical and report writing skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Fluency in English and Bengali.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Start Network is a global membership of more than 80 aid organizations working across six continents tackling what it sees as the biggest systemic problems the sector faces. Start Network’s vision is for a locally led humanitarian system that is accountable to people affected by and at-risk of crises. We aim to achieve this vision by making systemic-level shifts through innovation, fast funding, early action, and localization.START Network hosts two FOREWARN projects: Global FOREWARN and National FOREWARN. The Forecast-based, Warning, Analysis, and Response Network (FOREWARN) is Start Networks’ community of experts that provides this support to humanitarians on the ground, and advocates for early action to become the norm. FOREWARN Bangladesh strives to adapt and extend the Global FOREWARN experts groups to a country-specific context, resulting in the formation of a national community of experts who will be able to draw on all available resources, relationships, and expertise as they develop the structure and tools required to support forecast-based early action and its decision-making needs in Bangladesh. Eco-Social Development Organization(ESDO) is hosting FOREWARN in Bangladesh. ESDO is a national level NGO of Bangladesh start its journey since 1988.  We seek an equitable society free from discrimination. ESDO is currently working in 49 districts through 112 ongoing projects in 340 project offices and more than 5000 staffs with 45 donors. ESDO. Any kind of administrative paper will be signed by ESDO on behalf of FOREWARN. Lead the Hackathon communication with university teams Focal of the logistics associated with Hackathon 2.0Communicate/liaison with journalists/media. Support the smooth communication with associated partners! Support Start Network comms team. Writing blog and vlog on event progress and event boosting in social online platforms Support in workshop process documentation as well as event Any other task that the supervisor may assign.
∎ FOREWARN Bangladesh is launching national Disaster Hackathon this year targeting university students and researchers to team up and to solve humanitarian problems. We are expecting students with their dynamic skills and expertise will be exposed to humanitarian problems to solve in innovative ways. Communication experts will continue regular communication and follow up with university focal, teams, planning team and media and will document the whole process. The consultancy will be for a period of 8 months.
