Job Context:
∎ The "Bangladesh Climate Smart Livestock (BCSL)" project, funded by USDA and implemented by ACDI/VOCA is a five-year program. The project seeks to increase the productivity of livestock (cattle and goat) by improving animal health and adoption of new production technologies, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and conserving land resources. The project also aims to improve and increase the trade of livestock (cattle and goat) by linking producers to end buyers and increasing access to investment capital.
∎ Pursuant to its mission, ACDI/VOCA is seeking experienced and talented professionals for the Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion Advisor position. This role is based in Bangladesh and is expected to lead the integration of gender, youth, and social inclusion (GYSI) into the USDA-funded Bangladesh Climate Smart Livestock (BCSL) activity implemented by ACDI/VOCA. The GYSI Advisor will be expected to collaborate with technical, operational, and senior management staff across BCSL to integrate GYSI considerations throughout the program cycle and program operations, including in annual workplans. This position will also guide the development and implementation of BCSL`s GYSI strategy and action plan with specific actions and recommendations for meaningful GYSI integration across the project components.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide overall technical leadership and oversight of GYSI within BCSL, leading integration of GYSI approaches across program objectives as well as targeted GYSI activities.
∎ Support the BCSL GYSI analysis to identify gaps, constraints, opportunities, and risks for marginalized groups to participate in and benefit from BCSL interventions.
∎ With support and collaboration of key technical and management staff - lead the development and implementation of the BCSL GYSI strategy and action plan, including updating the strategy as needed throughout the life of the project. Identify issues, risks, and improvements related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments.
∎ In consultation with the project team, develop GYSI-specific and GYSI-integrated activities within BSCL's annual workplans that clearly map to the BSCL GYSI strategy.
∎ Lead and/or support other GYSI-focused research as appropriate, including inclusive business cases, to further investigate gender- and age-specific challenges, opportunities, impacts, lessons learned and/or risks arising from BSCL's implementation.
∎ Work with senior management to raise awareness and capacity of project staff on GYSI issues and to expand the quality of the GYSI work on the project, including facilitating GYSI training for staff.
∎ Support partner capacity building work on GYSI, including identifying and overseeing support resources for training and technical assistance.
∎ Work closely with the MEL & CLA Manager to ensure GYSI indicators, targets, and learning questions are integrated in BSCL's MEL and CLA plans.
∎ Support the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of GYSI outcomes and impacts as well as broader learning initiatives in close collaboration with the MEL & CLA Manager
∎ Lead the drafting of GYSI content in quarterly and annual reports, including summarizing GYSI activities, results, and learning.
∎ Represent BSCL and ACDI/VOCA at workshops, events, and donor meetings where information on GYSI is requested.
∎ Represent BSCL in ACDI/VOCA's internal GYSI Community of Practice to share learning and successes and to network and learn from ACDI/VOCA's global network of GYSI advisors.
∎ Document and disseminate key successes and learning related to GYSI and, as relevant, present these out externally to showcase BSCL's thought leadership around GYSI and climate.
∎ Share learning from BSCL's implementation of GYSI activities and represent ACDI/VOCA by participating in groups and events related to GYSI.
∎ Collaborate internally and externally to synthesize, share, and apply learning methods for inclusive market systems change. Active engagement in CLA is expected of all staff, in accordance with ACDI/VOCA's commitment to CLA and its importance to achieving this project's goals.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience with an international NGO mainstreaming gender into food security, nutrition, agriculture, or climate change programs to promote gender equity, including designing and facilitating training on gender, gender audit and/or gender program analysis, and gender targeted support. Prior experience with gender and youth on USDA or USAID-funded programs is desirable.
∎ Demonstrated knowledge of and proven successful ability to conduct gender and youth analyses and gender and youth integration programming.
∎ Clear knowledge and understanding of social and gender norms within the project context (both geographic and technical context). Demonstrated awareness of and responsiveness to gender and social issues in cross-cultural contexts
∎ Strong analytical skills, including the ability to gather and analyze a variety of information and to develop appropriate recommendations for action.
∎ Proven ability to successfully design and facilitate participatory training and workshops.
∎ Proven ability to lead and facilitate key informant interviews and focus groups.
∎ Ability to communicate effectively with people on all levels both inside and outside the organization on issues that could be complex or sensitive in nature.
∎ Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner.
∎ Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based environment including Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
∎ Fluency in Bengali and English required.
∎ Ability to travel within the country as necessary.
