∎ A minimum of 03 years of professional experience in executing engineering projects associated with the construction and repair of water and sanitation infrastructure.
∎ Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in the construction of irrigation infrastructure, specifically in projects involving rainwater harvesting systems, pond re-excavation, and solar-powered pumps in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
∎ Strong abilities in resource and personnel management, coupled with adept problem-solving and decision-making skills.
∎ Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
∎ Sound knowledge in drawing design, estimation and overseeing construction of irrigation infrastructure development activities.
∎ Supervision and monitoring of scheme at rural areas.
∎ CHT experience will be given advantages
∎ Fluency in at least one of the CHT small ethnic community language or Chittagonion dialogue
∎ Good level of community mobilization and training skills
∎ Valid motor cycle driving license
∎ Experience of working National/ international NGOs
∎ Good Understanding of rural culture, norms and practices

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide technical support to all irrigation schemes and construction related works.
∎ Provide technical support to contractors (mason groups) at Upazila, union and ward level.
∎ Carry out pre & post survey and estimate of viable schemes with the assistance of Admin Zone Coordinator/Environmental Compliance Assistant.
∎ Ensure that implementation of schemes is done in accordance with the drawing, design and directives of the Admin Zone Coordinator/Environmental compliance assistant
∎ Ensure daily output of the worker based on layout and measurement
∎ Update Admin Zone Coordinator progress of activities on daily basis
∎ Ensure quality of work through effective monitoring
∎ Ensure proper maintenance of goods and stocks according to specification schedule
∎ Supervise and support the community mobilizers and field facilitators for smooth implementation of different irrigation schemes,
∎ Collaborate with community mobilizers and field facilitators to engage and empower the community through training, fostering their capacity to enforce USAID's environmental compliance via community mobilization efforts.
∎ Adhere rigorously and fully comply with USAID's environmental policy throughout the construction and post-construction phases of piloting irrigation infrastructures.
∎ Work closely with technical supervisor of Helen Keller International to monitor and train communities. Afterwards, collect data regarding environmental compliance with the support of community mobilizers and field facilitators.
∎ Supervise community mobilizers and field facilitators in the formation of labor groups and Scheme Implementation Committee (SIC).
∎ Ensure that Scheme Implementation Committee (SIC) is engaged in managing local labor for implementation of irrigation schemes.
∎ Manage required permit from local authorities to establish irrigation infrastructures.
∎ Collect and preserve required No Objection Certificate (NOCs) from concerned authorities.
∎ Coordinate different stakeholders at the working areas
∎ Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Supervisors
∎ Job Nature: Contractual, Length of contract: 6 months

∎ TAHZINGDONG is looking for suitable candidates for an immediate appointment to Bandarban Agriculture and Nutrition Initiative project supported by Helen Keller International funded by USAID.
∎ Job Description:
∎ The Field Engineer will be based at Upazila level and support Admin Zone Coordinator, BANI, TAHZINGDONG in all aspects of implementation of piloting irrigation activities. He/she will be responsible for implementation of irrigation schemes at field level in accordance with the design, specification and plan ensuring desired quality. He/she will provide technical support to the contractors, mason groups, labors and communities during implementation of the schemes and monitoring implementation of the schemes.
