This position is ideal for an ambitious professional who enjoys developing new markets, identifying international buyers, negotiating export sales and managing export operations from inquiry through successful delivery. The successful candidate will work directly with the Management and play a strategic role in developing the company's export business and expanding its global market presence.
Job Responsibilities
The Export Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying international business opportunities, securing overseas buyers, developing export markets, coordinating export operations and contributing to the company's long-term business growth.
Identify and develop new export opportunities for Bangladeshi food products, agricultural commodities, processed foods, beverages, consumer products, industrial products and other exportable goods.
Conduct international market research to identify demand, pricing trends, competitors, market entry opportunities and customer requirements.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of international importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, supermarkets, institutional buyers and trading companies.
Generate qualified export leads through international B2B platforms, trade directories, embassies, chambers of commerce, trade missions, exhibitions, LinkedIn and other professional channels.
Build long-term business relationships with overseas buyers and strategic partners.
Prepare company profiles, capability statements, product catalogues, quotations, commercial proposals and presentations.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, payment methods, Incoterms and delivery schedules with international buyers.
Follow up on inquiries and convert leads into confirmed export orders.
Maintain an active international sales pipeline and customer relationship management (CRM) database.
Develop country-specific market entry strategies and recommend new export products.
Promote the company's products in international markets through digital and traditional marketing channels.
Identify opportunities to participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, buyer-seller meetings and business forums.
Coordinate promotional campaigns targeting international customers.
Support branding initiatives to strengthen the company's international presence.
Monitor global trade trends and recommend business expansion opportunities.
Coordinate export orders from purchase confirmation through shipment and final delivery.
Prepare Proforma Invoices and export quotations.
Coordinate production schedules with manufacturers and suppliers.
Monitor product quality, packaging, labeling and buyer specifications.
Ensure compliance with international quality standards and customer requirements.
Coordinate laboratory testing, inspections, fumigation and certifications where required.
Prepare and verify all export documentation, including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate, Health Certificate, Bill of Lading, Air Waybill, Insurance Certificate, Export Permit and other shipping documents.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, inspection agencies, insurance companies, banks and government authorities.
Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers until successful delivery.
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh export regulations and importing country requirements.
Maintain knowledge of Incoterms 2020, HS Codes, customs regulations, international logistics and export procedures.
Coordinate export permits, certifications, and regulatory approvals.
Ensure compliance with food safety, labeling, packaging and destination-country requirements.
Maintain strong relationships with existing international buyers.
Respond professionally to customer inquiries and complaints.
Provide timely updates regarding production, shipment and delivery.
Develop repeat business opportunities and long-term supply agreements.
Prepare weekly and monthly export business development reports.
Maintain accurate records of buyers, suppliers, quotations, export transactions and correspondence.
Update sales pipelines and export opportunity trackers.
Prepare export forecasts and market intelligence reports.
Perform any other duties assigned by management to support business growth.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in international business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Economics, Food Technology, Agricultural Economics or a related discipline.
A Master's degree will be considered an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in export marketing, international business development, export sales, international trade or export operations.
Experience exporting food products, agricultural commodities, FMCG, consumer goods or industrial products will be highly preferred.
Experience working with overseas buyers, distributors, importers or international trading companies will be an advantage.
Preferred Professional Competencies
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Experience exporting Bangladeshi food products, agricultural commodities, spices, seafood, frozen foods, processed foods, beverages, garments, leather goods, jute products, handicrafts or consumer products.
An existing network of overseas importers, distributors or buyers.
Experience using Alibaba.com, TradeKey, Global Sources or other international B2B marketplaces.
Knowledge of international trade agreements, customs procedures, tariff structures and export regulations.
Experience handling Letters of Credit (LC), TT payments, export incentives and trade finance.
Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, BRCGS, Halal Certification, FDA registration or other food safety and quality standards.
Experience coordinating with the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh Customs, Bangladesh Bank, Chambers of Commerce, freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines and inspection agencies.
Additional Requirements
Age preferably between 26 and 35 years.
