About the Role

Reputable engineering firm is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our power systems team. You will be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of grid substation assets, with a focus on 33/11 kV switchgear and 16/20 MVA power transformers.

Note: This is a contractual listing for duration of 1 month at Karnaphuli EPZ. If performance is found satisfactory you may or may not be offered a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and support the installation, testing, and commissioning of 33/11 kV GIS substations and associated equipment

• Oversee the installation, testing, & commissioning of 16/20 MVA oi type power transformers, including condition monitoring, oil analysis review, and tap changer maintenance

• Manage installation, testing, & commissioning of 33 kV and 11 kV switchgear related; circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, VTs, and protection relays

• Review and interpret single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and substation layouts

• Carry out fault analysis, root-cause investigations, and prepare technical reports

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and utility stakeholders on projects and outages

• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (IEC/IEEE), utility regulations, and health and safety procedures

• Maintain accurate technical documentation, test records, and as-built drawings

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc.) in Electrical Engineering

• Proven hands-on experience with grid substations of at least 33/11 kV switchgear

• Practical experience with 16/20 MVA power transformers.

• Solid knowledge of substation protection, control, and cabling

• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and safe working practices.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and reporting skills

• Good written and verbal communication in English

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in substation engineering.

• Professional engineering registration or membership (e.g., IEB)

• Experience with relay testing and commissioning tools

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar software

• Experience supervising technicians or contractor teams
