Job Responsibilities:
∎ Developing, implementing and managing education guidance programs
∎ Working with students in individual, small group and classroom settings
∎ Assisting students with creating an academic plan for their education
∎ Helping students plan for college and a successful career after graduation
∎ Working with students to develop critical life skills such as organization and time management
∎ Helping students work through difficult situations, such as a divorce or death in the family
∎ Collaborating with other educators and administrators to ensure counseling programs meet school goals
∎ Monitoring and recording student progress to ensure counseling programs are effective

Additional Requirements:
∎ Excellent communication skill is highly required for an education counselor to have to be good on the job
∎ Patience should be a virtue worn at all times by individuals who work as education counselors
∎ Ability to discern body language of students is also important
∎ Ability to be proactive and not reactive at all times is of great importance
∎ Interpersonal (mediation) skills is needed for education counselor to be able to solve problems that may arise between parents and teachers, or even between teachers and students as the case may be
∎ He/she must be easily approachable by teachers, students, and parents. That is to say that the counselor should be friendly and accommodating
∎ A first degree in Counselling; a Bachelor degree will be a welcome addition.
∎ Excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software (ERP etc.)
∎ Fluent English both speaking and writing
