  • More than one year of experience in the anticipatory actions, humanitarian response and Disaster Risk Reduction sector.

  • Experience working within or in support of networks or similar coalitions.

  • Understanding of the humanitarian architecture of Bangladesh

  • Understanding of network management and coordination

  • Strong written and verbal communication in English language skills with good experience in result-based approaches.

  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with Government representatives and donors.

  • Experience in project and financial management

  • Good interpersonal & team building skills and attitude to work with local organizations.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose

The Disaster Risk Financing Officer (Host Support) is responsible for implementing the Start Bangladesh DRF system development activities, data collection, event management and reporting in coordination with its member organisations with oversight, direction & support from DRF Manager. The position’s role will be to assist in driving forward implementation plans accordingly.

The Disaster Risk Financing Officer (Host Support) will also be responsible for coordinating and managing with Start Bangladesh members on DRF initiatives, organise and report development of DRF workshops, trainings, meetings, follow up and monitoring field-level implementation of flood and cyclone preparedness, readiness and early action activities, managing data from implementing members, direct field level data collection, analysis, reporting to play a critical role in documenting learning and information on flood and cyclone anticipatory actions.

Job Summary

  • Support the Start Bangladesh team in developing and operationalising different guidelines, modules, SOPs and translations as per the requirement to share with member organisations

  • Facilitate and organise meetings, workshops, training and other events with Start Bangladesh members and other stakeholders.

  • Field-level data collection on Start Bangladesh DRF and anticipatory action programmes, Data Cleaning, Preparation, Analysis, Data Visualization and Reporting.

  • Maintain regular information/data sharing with Start Bangladesh team and member organisations

  • Program monitoring, documentation, database management and assisting in report writing

  • Conduct regular monitoring if early action projects are activated for flood and cyclones

  • Support Start Bangladesh for DRF project documentation and support DRF coordinator by collating DRF project information to ensure efficient implementation and monitoring maintaining project track

  • Regular communication with Start Bangladesh member organisation

  • Support Start Bangladesh in developing and mainstreaming a common beneficiary database and protocol in Bangladesh

  • Contribute to mainstream data protection protocol within Start Bangladesh continuum in coordination with member agencies.

  • Support development of an operational dashboard for Start Bangladesh’s project beneficiary.

  • Coordinate and liaison with Start Bangladesh member agencies for effective information flow of project activities and beneficiaries.

  • Represent Start Bangladesh DRF program in different humanitarian forums and networks.

  • Conduct necessary relevant information collection and documentation as required.

Location: Dhaka with an extensive field visit

Line Manager: Disaster Risk Financing Manager, Start Bangladesh

Hours: 40 Hours/week, working hours: from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Contract length: 7 months (up to December 2024)

Job Other Benifits:
