Job Context:

ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 339 Upazilas under 53 districts of Bangladesh, covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ As a Deputy Program Manager, you will need to provide thorough technical and leadership support and to ensure that all components of the Integrated Nutrition Program are functioning properly, providing quality care to all the beneficiaries while respecting guidelines and principles of good practice. Require to play an important role on implementation of the key components of the programme delivery on technical grounds of CMAM, IYCF-E, CMAMI initiative and other nutrition sensitive programming as well as strengthening the community outreach through Care Groups for SBCC.
∎ As partnership with UNICEF & WFP, ESDO will implement the Integrated Nutrition Interventions for Malnutrition Treatment and Prevention Project at Rohingya Camp’s Cox’s Bazar district. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
∎ The project duration is total 07 months started from June 2023.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure technical insights for the day-to-day management of project site activities (such as CMAM, IYCF-E activities in IYCF-E corners, nutrition awareness message, nutrition sensitive E-Programming, growth monitoring and promotion, and all community outreach and SBCC and other nutrition sensitive activities).
∎ Strengthen additional programmatic initiatives such as C-MAMI, Care groups, and explore nutrition support to other vulnerable groups, ensuring accountability and inclusion.
∎ Participate to develop an overall plan for nutrition activities in the in the program area, determine need for scale up, brief donors, and advocate for adequate resource allocation.
∎ Ensure quality activities on CMAM reporting, quality of breastfeeding assessments, re-lactation, BMS monitoring, counselling skills etc and to ensure appropriate reporting and accountability
∎ Provide technical guidance to support the staff on IYCF-E, CMAM, C-MAMI and others as necessary to promote consistent good practice;
∎ Support and participate in the process of Conducting an in-depth analysis of IYCF practices in the target population facilitated by sector and donor agencies.
∎ Support to strengthening SBCC and community mobilization to strengthen preventive approaches to malnutrition at household level, as well as CMAM beneficiary defaulter tracing, prevention of relapsing and non-response to treatment.
∎ Assist to prepare weekly and monthly technical reports and provide technical input into monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports according to donor requirements and organizational procedures
∎ Establish mechanism(s) to ensure appropriate support for targeted infants who cannot be breastfed in the different locations (these should follow international guidance and be feasible and pragmatic);
∎ Assist to develop preparedness plans for monsoon interventions on nutrition support and management of particular vulnerable children and other vulnerable groups like people with disabilities and elderly, as needed.
∎ Support to prepare annual and quarterly work plan and detailed implementation plan aligned with budget that identify key objectives, responsible staff, deliverables and potential roadblocks
∎ Be aware of, understand and comply with all of ESDO’s policies and procedures
∎ Reporting and documentation of performed project activities.
∎ Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the line manager

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Around 5 years’ progressive experience in implementation of Community nutrition programmes including at least two (2) years’ experience in the similar role and project
∎ Not only technical quality rather managing more than 100 staff and standard management quality is preferable.
∎ Extra ordinary leadership is preferable.
∎ Managing critical issues.
∎ Provide structured supportive supervision focusing on the key nutrition activities CMAM, IYCF-E counselling skills;
∎ Arrange training for staff on CMAM, IYCF, CMAMI, behaviour change communication, GMP and other cross-cutting related training
∎ Lead to plan volunteer training on technical ground such as CMAM, IYCF, ECCD, GMP etc
∎ Maintain a close coordination with the technical unit of Donor regarding overall project implementation and management following standard protocol and sectoral guidance.
∎ Assist to programmatic approval including Need Assessment from CIC office, RRRC and DC office and other relevant concern bodies for smooth operation of programmatic activities in the camp level.
∎ Ensure substantial representation in the nutrition sector and support relevant working groups including IYCF-E working group.
∎ Facilitate cross-sectoral programming, particularly to promote excellent communication and referral between IYCF-E, CMAM, BSFP, health, FSL and other programming;
∎ Coordinate to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including nutrition clusters, partners and the Ministry of Health.
∎ Honesty, less gossiping , commitment to work is preferable.
∎ Be aware of, understand and comply with all of ESDO’s policies and procedures
∎ Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the line manager.

Salary: Tk. 120000 (Monthly)
