Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical), or a related discipline.
Master's degree preferred
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in regulatory affairs, government liaison, or compliance within an energy company, utility, or consulting firm.
Strong knowledge of Bangladesh's energy sector regulatory framework, including the BERC Act, Electricity Act, and related legislation.
Prior working experience with or exposure to the Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources is highly advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English.
The Deputy Manager — Regulatory Compliance will serve as a key liaison between the Group and the Power & Energy Ministry and related sector bodies. The incumbent will manage all regulatory permits, licenses, and approvals pertaining to the Group's energy and power portfolio, ensuring timely compliance and proactive engagement with government authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor all regulatory licenses, approvals, NOCs, and permits related to the Power & Energy sector
Liaise regularly with the Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources and affiliated agencies on behalf of the Group.
Track regulatory changes, policy updates, and gazette notifications relevant to the energy sector and assess their business impact.
Prepare and submit compliance reports, applications, and regulatory filings within stipulated deadlines.
Coordinate internally with legal, finance, and operations teams to gather documentation for regulatory submissions.
Develop and maintain a regulatory calendar to ensure no compliance deadline is missed.
Attend ministry meetings, hearings, and stakeholder sessions as required.
Build and sustain professional relationships with relevant officials at BERC, PGCB, REB, BPDB, and related bodies.
Support due diligence for new energy projects from a regulatory standpoint.
Maintain a comprehensive registry of all energy-related regulatory filings and correspondence
