  • Age At least 30 years
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in government liaison, external affairs, or a similar role within a large corporate or public organization.

  • Strong practical knowledge of Bangladeshi government processes, Secretariat procedures, and administrative hierarchy.

  • Prior experience working within or closely with the Bangladesh Secretariat is a significant advantage.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bangla and English.

  • Ability to draft formal government correspondence with accuracy and protocol adherence.



Responsibilities & Context:

The Deputy Manager — External Engagement will be responsible for managing the Group's relationships with various government ministries and facilitating official business processes within the Secretariat. The role demands a professional with a deep understanding of Bangladesh's administrative machinery and the ability to navigate formal government channels efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for coordination and follow-up on matters lodged with various government ministries.

  • Manage day-to-day engagement within the Secretariat, build strong ministerial relationships, and facilitate smooth corporate-government alignment.

  • Facilitate submission, tracking, and retrieval of official documents, applications, and correspondence at the Secretariat level.

  • Build and maintain professional networks with joint secretaries, deputy secretaries, and other relevant officials across ministries.

  • Support the preparation of official demi-official (DO) letters, memos, and formal correspondence on behalf of senior management.

  • Monitor policy and regulatory decisions arising from ministries that may affect Group operations and provide timely updates to management

  • Coordinate inter-ministerial matters that require cross-departmental engagement

  • Arrange and attend meetings with government officials, preparing briefing notes and follow-up action points

  • Maintain a structured log of all ministerial engagements, pending approvals, and follow-up timelines

  • Support senior leadership in preparing for high-level government meetings
