Responsibilities & Context:
∎
∎ 1. Cost Monitoring and Analysis:
∎ • Monitor and control operational costs in all departments (e.g., F&B, housekeeping, maintenance).
∎ • Perform variance analysis between budgeted and actual costs, identifying areas for improvement.
∎ 2. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
∎ • Oversee inventory levels and conduct audits to ensure proper stock levels and reduce waste.
∎ • Work closely with procurement teams to optimize supply chain management and negotiate cost-effective supplier contracts.
∎ 3. Waste Reduction and Efficiency:
∎ • Implement strategies to reduce food, beverage, and general operational waste.
∎ • Develop and enforce internal controls to prevent theft and loss across the property.
∎ 4. Menu and Product Pricing:
∎ • Collaborate with the kitchen and F&B departments to determine cost-effective pricing strategies while maintaining quality.
∎ • Analyze menu and service offerings to ensure profitability.
∎ 5. Reporting on Costs:
∎ • Generate regular reports on costs, margins, and other key performance indicators.
∎ • Provide cost-related recommendations to department heads for better financial performance.
∎ Finance Control Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Budgeting and Financial Planning:
∎ • Develop and manage the hotel’s annual budgets, including both capital and operating budgets.
∎ • Create financial forecasts based on historical data and market trends.
∎ 2. Financial Reporting:
∎ • Prepare financial statements such as profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
∎ • Provide management with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports to guide decision-making.
∎ 3. Internal Controls and Compliance:
∎ • Ensure that financial policies and procedures are followed in compliance with legal regulations and internal standards.
∎ • Conduct regular audits to verify financial accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
∎ 4. Cash Flow Management:
∎ • Monitor and manage cash flows to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
∎ • Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
∎ 5. Financial Analysis and Risk Management:
∎ • Conduct financial analyses to assess profitability, cost-efficiency, and investment opportunities.
∎ • Identify and mitigate financial risks through proper financial planning and risk management strategies.
∎ 6. Taxation,VAT and Regulatory Compliance:
∎ • Ensure the hotel complies with all local and national tax & VAT laws.
∎ • Liaise with tax & vat authorities and external auditors during financial audits.
∎ 7. Capital Expenditure Management:
∎ • Oversee capital investments and ensure that they align with the hotel’s long-term financial strategy.
∎ • Evaluate and approve major expenditures in line with the hotel’s financial policies.
∎ 8. Payroll and Expense Management:
∎ • Oversee payroll management to ensure accurate and timely payment of staff.
∎ • Control operational expenses across departments and find ways to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
∎ 9. Collaboration with Management:
∎ • Work closely with the general manager and department heads to ensure financial strategies support business goals.
∎ • Provide strategic financial advice to support decision-making at the executive level.
