Responsibilities & Context:
Job Summary
The Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring construction projects to ensure quality, safety, timely completion, and compliance with approved designs, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role involves coordinating with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and government authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Supervise construction activities at project sites.
Review drawings, specifications, and BOQs before execution.
Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, and MEP engineers.
Prepare work schedules and resource plans.
Quality Control
Ensure construction work complies with approved drawings and specifications.
Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
Monitor material testing and quality assurance procedures.
Identify and resolve technical issues during construction.
Site Management
Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site staff.
Monitor labor productivity and resource utilization.
Ensure proper documentation of site activities.
Verify contractor bills and work measurements.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections.
Coordinate with local authorities for permits and approvals.
Ensure adherence to building codes and environmental regulations.
Cost Control
Assist in project budgeting and cost estimation.
Monitor material consumption and project expenses.
Review variation orders and additional work claims.
Support procurement activities and vendor evaluation.
Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Maintain project records, drawings, and technical documents.
Report project status, risks, and issues to management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
Registration with the relevant engineering authority (if applicable).
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards
