Experience:
Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Investment Management, or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as CFA, CA, ACCA, or FCCA will be preferred.
Relevant regulatory or investment-management certifications will be an added advantage.
10–15 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Asset Management, Investment Management, Banking, Capital Markets, or Financial Services.
At least 5–10 years of experience in senior management/leadership roles with significant responsibility for business strategy, investment management, financial performance, regulatory compliance, or organizational leadership.
Strong experience in dealing with BSEC and other financial-sector regulatory authorities will be highly preferred.
Proven track record in business growth, AUM development, investment oversight, profitability, and stakeholder management.
Job Purpose:
Provide strategic leadership and overall direction to drive the Asset Management Company's business growth, investment performance, operational excellence, financial sustainability, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Ensure that all statutory registrations, licenses, approvals, and regulatory clearances are obtained, renewed, and maintained in coordination with BSEC and other relevant regulatory authorities, enabling compliant, efficient, and sustainable business operations.
1. Regulatory Compliance & Corporate Governance
Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, BSEC regulations, regulatory directives, and corporate governance requirements.
Maintain effective relationships with BSEC, trustees, custodians, auditors, and other regulatory authorities.
Lead and coordinate the process for obtaining, renewing, and maintaining all required registrations, licenses, approvals, and regulatory clearances.
Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports, returns, disclosures, and other statutory requirements.
Establish and maintain effective compliance, internal control, risk management, and governance frameworks.
Ensure that the Company's operations remain fully aligned with regulatory and Board-approved policies.
2. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
Develop and execute the Company's vision, mission, strategic objectives, and long-term business plans.
Lead business expansion and identify new market opportunities, investment products, and solutions.
Drive sustainable growth in Assets Under Management (AUM), revenue, profitability, and market position.
Lead organizational transformation, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure effective execution of Board-approved strategic priorities.
3. Business & Financial Management
Establish and achieve annual business, revenue, profitability, and AUM targets.
Oversee annual budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and cost management.
Monitor financial and operational performance against approved business plans.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
Present regular business, financial, and operational performance reports and recommendations to the Board.
4. Investment Oversight
Provide strategic oversight of portfolio management, fund management, and investment activities.
Ensure investment activities are conducted in accordance with approved investment policies, mandates, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite.
Monitor fund performance, investment returns, portfolio quality, and overall AUM.
Work closely with the Investment Committee and senior investment professionals to support competitive and sustainable investment performance.
Ensure appropriate investment governance, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms are in place.
5. Risk Management & Internal Controls
Develop and oversee an effective enterprise-wide risk management framework.
Ensure appropriate management of market, investment, liquidity, operational, financial, compliance, legal, and reputational risks.
Strengthen internal control systems and risk mitigation measures.
Ensure effective business continuity, crisis management, and contingency planning.
Maintain appropriate risk reporting and escalation mechanisms for management and the Board.
6. Leadership & People Management
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing executive management team.
Establish a culture of integrity, accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and performance excellence.
Develop organizational capabilities aligned with the Company's strategic objectives.
Ensure effective succession planning and leadership development.
Promote ethical conduct and strong professional standards across the organization.
7. Stakeholder & Board Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with shareholders, institutional investors, clients, business partners, regulators, trustees, custodians, and other key stakeholders.
Represent the Company in industry forums, conferences, regulatory meetings, and strategic business engagements.
Maintain transparent and effective communication with the Board of Directors.
Provide the Board with strategic insights, business recommendations, investment-related updates, risk assessments, and regulatory developments.
Protect and enhance the Company's reputation and stakeholder confidence.
