Educational Requirements:

∎ BE/ B. Tech in Biomedical Engineering/ Medical Technology/ Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized university/ institution.
∎ PG Diploma/Degree in Healthcare Management/ Biomedical Maintenance/M-Tech preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ S/He will work with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Hospital Administration, and other related health departments to:
∎ Review the specifications of the planned PSA plants and prepare summary of operational needs at health facility level.
∎ In coordination with other partners, visit the health facilities to establish relationship with hospital management, onsite technicians and maintenance staff and identify need for capacity building.
∎ Prepare hospital specific plans for ops and maintenance of oxygen plants and storage devices like PSA and Liquid Medical Oxygen.
∎ Coordinate data collection and data analysis and provide regular updates to the hospital management and government counterparts to inform them about the program strategy.
∎ Work across health departments in mobilizing support for initiatives aimed at streamlining medical oxygen supply chain in the given health facility.
∎ Identify needs for supplies, repair and maintenance and share them with the Jhpiego team and government counterparts.
∎ Prepare detailed handover logs and reports of efforts undertaken and the final status in each health facility.
∎ Develop strong relationships with key external and internal stakeholders including government officials, affiliated institutes, and partners working in the oxygen ecosystem landscape in Bangladesh and beyond.
∎ Take on other work responsibilities from time to time as required for program implementation.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2-3 years' experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Medical Equipment especially oxygen plants in Govt. health organization or in any other large hospital.
∎ Knowledge of Oxygen delivery systems, methods for diagnosis, treatment guidelines and practices in Bangladesh would be preferable.
∎ Good oral and written communication skills in both English & Bengali.
∎ Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary and multicultural group of colleagues and external stakeholders.
∎ Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision and under pressure.
∎ Creative, flexible, and resourceful and able to cope with logistical challenges.
∎ Ability to travel anywhere within Bangladesh at a short notice.
