rules of origin, tax & duty
Experience with international logistics,
shipping, air & sea freight
Good command over LC, ICC rules, banking instruments
Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills
Proficiency in ERP/TALLEY & MS Office
Responsibilities & Context: Job Context: We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced professional to join our Commercial Department as Assistant Manager – Commercial (Import). The incumbent will be responsible for handling all import-related commercial activities, including LC opening, shipment follow-up, customs clearance, documentation, and coordination with suppliers, banks, and C&F agents. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to ensure smooth and timely import operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all import operations for Trading: sourcing, procurement, shipping, customs clearance, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs, bonded zone rules
- Manage relationships with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, C&F agents
- Prepare, review, and manage Letters of Credit (L/C), Bank Guarantees, other bank documents
- Negotiate with suppliers on price, terms, shipping & payment
- Monitor landed cost, freight, duties, tariffs, and optimize cost
- Forecast import requirements aligned with production schedules
- Coordinate with procurement, finance, accounts, warehouse, and operations
- Resolve discrepancies, claims, delays, MOQ, quality issues with suppliers or logistics
- Prepare reports, KPIs, budgets, variance analysis
