Educational Requirements:
∎ PhD from a North American, UK, or Australian university
∎ At least 20 years of teaching and research experience (preferably some experience teaching in English-speaking countries)
∎ A minimum of 8 publications including journal articles (indexed in Scopus or equivalent), books or book chapters (from renowned publishers)
∎ Areas of specialization: postcolonial studies, literary and critical theory, cultural theory, modernism, postmodernism, South Asian literature and culture.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Facilitate networking with international universities for research collaboration and exchange programs;
∎ Organize faculty development programs with international trainers;
∎ Facilitate grant applications from the department, Represent ULAB and the department on different international platforms;
∎ Teach undergraduate and masters courses in the Department of English and Humanities; Prepare course outlines, course calendars and lesson plans;
∎ Conduct research and develop teaching materials;
∎ Supervise thesis students; Conduct seminars/master classes/public talks;
∎ Contribute to the department’s curriculum development plans and Mentor junior faculty members for research publications and higher studies.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
Salary: Negotiable
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Gross salary range is BDT 250,000 to 350,000. No other benefits will be applicable for this position.
