QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION
a) Minimum Graduation in any discipline from any reputed University
b) For an exceptionally deserving candidate, academic qualifications may be relaxed
c) Retired Officers from Military or Police services will be given preference
B. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
a) Proficiency in English and good communication and interpersonal skills
b) Computer literacy and ability to use computer in a technological platform
c) Knowledge of public safety and security
d) Knowledge in operating and monitoring IP based CCTV and modern electronic access and security control devices
e) Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
f) Willingness to work in shifts and holidays, if required
Responsibilities & Context:
JOB CONTEXT
Head of Security oversees the security operations of ULAB including but not limited to asset protection, protection of student and staff, prevention of theft and inventory loss. He has to develop and implement security standards and ensure that they are followed by all students and staff. Head of Security will have to develop security strategies, implement security procedures, and supervise security personnel.
REPORTING
The Head of Security reports to the Registrar.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures
b. Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
c. Train and supervise security officers and guards
d. Ensure the safety of staff and students within the university
e. Identify security threat and implement preventative measures
f. Coordinate responses to emergencies and alarms, as well as compile incident reports
g. Prepare surveillance equipment maintenance schedules and facilitate repairs in a timely manner
h. Keep abreast of new technologies and advancements in security services
i. Work closely with the Proctor's Office to support student security and safety matters
j. Make liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including police station and various security agencies to provide a secure and safe environment
k. Make liaison with the emergency service, police, ambulance and fire service to resolve issues and maintain security and services
l. Plan security response activities to ensure security-related incidents do not occur
m. Monitor and maintenance of CCTV footage
n. Any other task assigned by the management time to time.
