  • Willingness and enthusiasm for working with multidisciplinary team.      
  • Practical knowledge in MS Office, STATA/SPSS, GIS·

Responsibilities & Context:

Practical Action recently awarded funding in the form of a grant from the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland acting through Department for International Development (DFID). Subsequently replaced for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), to carry out and oversee the Project titled “Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) Clean Cooking Research Study” and which is subject to the accountable grant agreement between FCDO and Loughborough University. 

Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Reporting (80%)      

  • Provide required support for establishing effective MEL system across the intervention and ensure its routine functioning.·       Contribute in preparing tools and guideline according to MEL plan.  

  • Assist in developing common and specific indicators (or issues/focuses) for an effective change/impact measurement framework.      

  • Coordinate in measuring most significant changes, biggest impact, assessing success and failure of a project.      

  • Support programme delivery team and thematic team in developing new projects, writing periodic reports with quality.     

  • Contribute to building team capacities related to MEL, participatory action research, various approaches of measuring change and evaluating projects.     

  • Track achievements of outputs and outcomes through result-based monitoring·      

  • Conduct routine monitoring visit and provide feedback to the respective management in order to improve the implementation quality of the project.      

  • Maintain output/results-oriented database as part of establishing systematic information flow through online application.      

  • Support to Practical Action’s MEL and Research team and external consultants to conduct different studies namely, baseline, end-line evaluation, field research, etc.     

  • Document the learning and best practices for use in the programme and future programme development.     

  • Support to MEL and Research team to prepare global Indicators report of Practical Action·      

  • Contribute to design a compatible MIS system including automated process for brief and real time monitoring.      

  • Develop global indicators report of the project.      

  • Follow the standard of Programmed Quality and Delivery (PQD) framework in every aspect of the MIS and study related activities.      

  • Assist to prepare annual and donor reports with required analytical support.

Thematic and other areas (15%) 

  • Assess the impact/result created among the programme participants and ensure its proper documentation.

  • Support in field research, learning documents and conducting learning harvesting and support in other relevant events.

  • Assist communication team in preparing evidence-based communication material.

  • Support programme delivery team and thematic team in collecting data, analysis, synthesis, writing reports, etc.

  • Maintain close coordination with different department including gender, advocacy, communication, General Support Services, People & Culture, and the focal of enabling pillars.

  • Support partners to ensure standard M&E system and staff capacity building.
