Educational Requirements:
∎ Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in any subject in order to apply.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Memorise and recall the different categories in the Medical College Library
∎ Use Microsoft Office to catalogue items in the Medical College Library [ability to enter data into a table will be explicitly assessed]
∎ Differentiate books by genre/subject and place them in the appropriate location by genre/subject
∎ Be responsible for the general upkeep/cleanliness of the Medical College Library, especially by ensuring that books are clean and in good condition
∎ Enforce the Medical College Library rules, especially silence
∎ Loan books and ensure loan records are accurate and up-to-date. Ensure the return deadlines are followed by borrowers
∎ Use a photocopy machine to provide services to students and teachers
Additional Requirements:
∎ Applicants must also be able to use MS Word.
∎ Applicants with a Diploma or Masters in Library Science, or a Masters in any subject, are preferred but this is not mandatory.
∎ Applicants with experience working in a Library are preferred but this is not mandatory. Applicants must be hardworking, and should have genuine personal interest in academia, books and libraries.
Salary:
∎ Negotiable
∎ Salary is negotiable but generous, depending on the qualifications and experience level of the applicant.
