ABOUT THE ROLE

We build point-of-sale software for businesses. You will join a small product team and own features end to end on our Android application, working closely with the people who design the workflows and the customers who depend on them.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

1. Core sales and checkout workflows, from building an order through to completing payment.

2. Accurate, defensive handling of financial calculations.

3. Connecting the app to the hardware used at the counter.

4. Keeping the app dependable when the network is slow or unavailable.

5. The everyday tools that staff use to run the business

Key Responsibilities

• Strong command of Java and Kotlin, with real depth in native Android development

• Fluency with modern Android UI development and common app architecture patterns

• Working with remote and real-time services, and handling offline and online states

• Careful, defensive handling of numeric and financial calculations

• Working with on-device data storage

• Integrating third-party hardware or device SDKs

• Exposure to Flutter and Dart

• A habit of testing critical logic

• Experience integrating hardware peripherals

• Integrate with diverse APIs; ensure smooth communication with SaaS modules.

• Work with device SDKs and semi-integrated payment devices (e.g., Ingenico).

• Debug and resolve POS hardware/software integration issues.

• Ensure app security and compliance for financial transactions.

• Write clean, testable, well-documented code.

PREFERRED

• Background in retail, payments, or point-of-sale products

• Semi-integrated POS devices (PAX, Ingenico, Verifone).

• Offline-first mobile design patterns (important for POS).

• End-to-end mobile deployment experience.

• Understanding of the retail/POS domain.
