Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 51 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ As partnership with DRC, ESDO will implement the Increase the capacity and awareness of the community on waste management and establish two villages as zero waste model, Coxsbazar. .This position posting place will be at Ukhia, Coxsbazar. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
∎ The position service duration for 12 month from the joining date

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Job Summary:
∎ An Agriculture or Forestry Officer is responsible for managing the agricultural activities of the project ensuring that they are carried out in compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. This includes conducting field-level innovative activities, developing IGA and providing technical assistance and support to beneficiaries.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Ensuring agricultural planning and execution of the project intervention.
∎ Design Livelihoods Input support to beneficiaries on Climate resilience programming
∎ Formed communities to manage CBOs for market collection point
∎ Community Mobilization and capacity development for stakeholders (host and camps)
∎ Provide Capacity development training for high value product/ high value vegetables production techniques, value chain dev for individuals
∎ Provide skill development training to the beneficiaries on IGA.
∎ Established Black Soilders Fly Production Unit for fertilizer production.
∎ Mobilized and managed CBOs/ Micro entrepreneur groups for business (consultation meetings/PRA, etc.)
∎ Provide technical assistance and support to beneficiaries, including advice on crop production, ,management, marketing, and financing.
∎ Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the projects and make recommendations for improvements.
∎ Promote best practices in agriculture, especially sustainable land use, integrated pest management, and conservation.
∎ Collaborate with other organizations and stakeholders, including government agencies, beneficiaries, and environmental groups, to promote sustainable agriculture practices.
∎ Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate project results and recommendations to stakeholders and the general public.
∎ Manage budgets and resources for agricultural intervention of the projects
∎ Working Conditions:
∎ Agriculture or Forestry Officers may work in a variety of settings, including offices, and field. They may need to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines. They may also be required to travel to various locations, including remote areas.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ In case of highly experience staff age limit is flexible.
∎ At least 01 years’ working experience in the similar position.
∎ Relevant work experience in agriculture or forestry, such as working on a farm or in a forestry company, or in a related government agency or NGO
∎ Strong knowledge of agriculture or forestry practices, including pest and disease management, soil and water conservation, and land use planning
∎ Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
∎ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
∎ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
∎ Proficiency in relevant software and technology, such as GIS and data analysis tools

Salary: Tk. 40000 (Monthly)
