  • Strong hands-on experience with VRM (Vertical Roller Mill) and Ball Mill maintenance.

  • Proven experience in leading plant shutdowns, reliability improvement initiatives, and managing large maintenance teams.



Responsibilities & Context:

Support the Plant Head in ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all mechanical equipment, with primary responsibility for the VRM and Ball Mill systems. Act as the second-in-command for the Mechanical function and ensure optimum plant availability and operational excellence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities across the plant.

  • Act as second-in-command and oversee mechanical operations in the absence of the Plant Head.

  • Ensure maximum availability and reliability of VRM, Ball Mill, Conveyors, Fans, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities.

  • Reduce equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting and maintenance planning.

  • Monitor equipment health using vibration analysis, lubrication management, and condition monitoring techniques.

  • Optimize maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, and annual maintenance budget.

  • Coordinate major overhauls of VRM, Ball Mill, gearboxes, rollers, bearings, and drive systems.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, permit-to-work (PTW) systems, and statutory requirements.

  • Lead troubleshooting of critical mechanical failures and implement permanent corrective actions.

  • Develop and implement SOPs, maintenance plans, and equipment performance KPIs.

  • Mentor and develop maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

  • Coordinate with Production, Electrical, Instrumentation, Procurement, and Stores to ensure smooth plant operations.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and extend equipment life.

  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance records, inspections, and statutory compliance.

  • Support plant expansion, modification, and CAPEX projects from mechanical execution through commissioning.

  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and reliability reports to the Plant Head.
