∎ To achieve its goals, MdM Switzerland develops programs in three thematic areas: SRHR, violence prevention and response, and pediatric palliative care. Combining its thematic expertise with informed stakeholder coordination and close collaboration with local partners, MdM Switzerland is committed to ensure context-appropriate response concepts and the sustainability of effected work.
∎ MdM Switzerland has been working in support to the displaced Rohingya population and affected host community in Cox`s Bazar since 2018. The core focus of its response lies on quality primary health care, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and quality care for gender-based violence (GBV) survivors in the Rohingya camps and surrounding local communities.
∎ The `hidden pandemic` evolving along the devastating impact of the COVID-19 crisis has again demonstrated the importance of GBV mainstreaming in health and other sectors which has been the course of recent work of MdM Switzerland in Cox`s Bazar. In strong partnership with our local partner, MdM Switzerland is committed to strengthening health structures and extensive capacity building on quality service for GBV survivors as well as to address communities` awareness and response capacity to GBV at community level.
∎ To ensure appropriate implementation and development of the programme, sound coordination at field level with a magnitude of actors in the Rohingya response and oversight of the overall mission, closely collaborating with other MdM chapters, MdM Switzerland is searching for a General Coordinator to start from December 2020 onwards. The position is open to both national and expatriate candidates. Detailed qualification requirements and information on the recruitment process are presented below. Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the supervision of the Administrative and Financial officer, the Admin and Finance Assistant will cover the following responsibilities:
∎ Financial, accounting and budget management processes:
∎ Manage Accountancy whilst respecting MdM accountancy procedures, tools, and software.
∎ Support budget follow-up of MdM projects with partner organization, and proper supporting documents.
∎ Support appropriate implementation of financial procedures and regulations for organizational, donor and statutory compliance.
∎ Perform the preparatory process and data collection for audits.
∎ Ensure the tasks above in coordination with implementing partners as a first point of call for partner financial reports revision.
∎ Responsible for the proper filing and archiving of financial/administrative documents.
∎ Manage cash flow (bank account, safe, cash box, advances etc.) using MdM procedures and tools.
∎ Perform all Tax & VAT related work, such as calculation, deduction, and deposit to bank, in accordance with national legislation.
∎ Administrative support:
∎ Support purchase processes in coordination with the supervisor and/or office logistics
∎ Support in managing vehicle and transport for project visit.
∎ Support the Administrative and Financial Officer in diverse administrative procedures, and registrations and submissions.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years of work experience in the humanitarian and/or development sector as Admin and Finance Assistant.
∎ Field-level experience in financial reporting with an international NGO.
∎ SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
∎ In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes
∎ Clear understanding of Vat and Tax Laws in the country
∎ Familiar with the concept of FDs under the NGO Affairs Bureau documentations and regulations
∎ Financial reporting for humanitarian donors
∎ Administrative management including procurement and inventory control.
∎ Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word
∎ Experience with SAGA software is an advantage.
∎ Outstanding analytical and time management skills.
∎ Strong attention to détail.
∎ LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
∎ Excellent spoken and written in English and Bangla.
