Experience:
BBA/MBA/Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional certification (CA-CC, CMA part-qualified) will get an advantage.
Experience in accounting/finance, preferably in NGO/development sector
Experience in donor-funded project financial management, analytical & reporting, accounting principles, audit support
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
Attention to detail and accuracy
Understanding of compliance and donor requirements
Good communication skills in Bangla and basic English
Summary of Position:
The Accounts Officer is responsible for ensuring proper financial management, accounting, and compliance of the CRANGPU Project in line with organizational policies and donor (bftW) requirements. The position will support accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and effective utilization of project funds.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Financial Management & Accounting
Maintain project accounts and financial records in accordance with organizational policies
Prepare and process vouchers, bills, and payment documents
Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions
Maintain cash book, bank book, and ledger accounts
B. Budgeting & Financial Planning
Assist in preparation of project budgets and budget revisions
Monitor budget utilization and expenditure tracking
Ensure expenditures are within approved budget lines
Provide financial information to support planning and decision-making
C. Payment & Disbursement
Process staff salaries, allowances, and vendor payments
Ensure timely disbursement of funds for field activities
Verify bills, invoices, and supporting documents before payment
Maintain proper approval and authorization procedures
D. Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Support donor financial reporting as per bftW requirements
Reconcile bank statements and project accounts regularly
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data
E. Compliance & Audit
Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and donor guidelines
Support internal and external audits by providing required documents
Address audit observations and implement recommendations
Maintain transparency and accountability in all financial processes
F. Coordination & Support
Coordinate with project and field staff on financial matters
Provide financial orientation and support to field teams
Assist in procurement and logistics processes when required
Support administrative and financial operations of the project
