Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet). CB is implementing 94 on-going projects covering 200 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is looking for suitable candidate for an immediate appointment as well as to prepare a panel list for the post of Accounts Officer under Caritas Khulna Region.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh is implementing the project titled "P00305 Strengthening people centered inclusive disaster risk management in Khulna of Bangladesh (DIDRM)" funded by CBM Global Bangladesh for 36 months. The project will be implemented in Koyra and Dacope of Khulna district. The Overall objective of the project is "Improving resilience of at-risk community members including persons with disabilities to adapt and manage climate induced disaster risks in Bangladesh." This position will be based in field office of sub -district level S/he will be directly involved in maintaining day to day books of accounts of respective field office. Responsible monitoring and follow up budgets at field office level.

∎ Job Location : Khulna (Dacope, Koyra)
∎ Reporting to : Project Manager
∎ Job Nature : Temporary
∎ Job Duration : Project period
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for preparation of periodic financial plans of the project as required by the Project/Regional/Executive Office. To assist the program personnel to prepare the budget plans of their respective projects.
∎ Responsible for maintaining and keeping accounts of project Tally Software, preparation of Monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement, maintaining, monitoring and adjustment of traveling, project and other advances and Sundry Creditors, preparation of periodical accounts for Government and Donors/ including Form FD-4 & special Audit in consultation with the Project Manager (DiDRM).
∎ Responsible for all Internal and External Audit of the project
∎ Responsible for financial monitoring of the budgets of all project/funds and to assist the program personnel to ensure better utilization of budget of the project.
∎ Prepare accurate financial report following the donor reporting template and guideline. Submit report to relevant stakeholder and Caritas Central Office within the timeline.
∎ Undertake field visits and check all the finance related documents of the field offices and update.
∎ Accelerate fund request and fund receive in project bank account with timely and efficiently.
∎ Ensure Provide Fund Receipt Acknowledgement to donor immediate after the fund to Organization bank account.
∎ Tracking the expenditure record correctly and corresponding with budget
∎ Process expense claims and ensure adherence to expense policies and guidelines.
∎ Assist with payroll administration and employee reimbursement processes.
∎ Develop Terms of Reference (ToR) and arrange statutory audit within the time frame.
∎ Maintain fixed assets register, Inventory /stock register & update regularly.
∎ Provide appropriate guidance to procurement committees and program team for ensuring value for money.
∎ Required Languages: Strong written and oral command in English/Bangla is required.
∎ Travel: This position is based in Khulna with frequent travel throughout Bangladesh. Up to 50% travel to Project/field offices and field.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Minimum 2 years of working experience in a similar job in any NGO.
∎ Experience in maintaining accounts and financial reporting of projects will be given preference. .
∎ Knowledge on VAT/Tax and GAAP is essential.
∎ Knowledge on computerized accounting system, ICT particularly on MS Excel, MS Word (both Bangla & English), etc., is essential. Capable to operate Tally-Accounting Software will be an added value.
∎ Additional Requirements

∎ Availability to stay in remote areas and spend time at the field level.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 30,000/- per month (consolidated).
