Job Context:
∎ STS Group, one of the largest corporate groups in Bangladesh, came into being in 1997 with a mission to provide international standard healthcare and education with the participation of accomplished local & foreign entrepreneurs. Their 3rd upcoming new school is STS International School, Sun Valley. The Sun Valley School seeks a founding Vice-Principal for a brand-new school in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
∎ Sun Valley will be a Cambridge Curriculum School hosting students up through Grade 8 for the first year and then upgraded yearly as per the standard affiliation process. This will start during the 2023-2024 academic year.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare School Calendar in consultation with the Section Heads & Heads of Departments.
∎ To assist the Principal in allocating workload and the Time Table of the School prepared by assigning the classes/subjects to the teachers seeing their qualifications, competence, experience & suitability.
∎ To get the Section Heads & Heads of Departments to ensure that teaching work & correction work is going on smoothly & regularly.
∎ To ensure that the internal Exams of the School are conducted smoothly.
∎ To assess & evaluate the performance of all Section Heads & teachers.
∎ To conduct meetings with different academic departments.
∎ To organize teachers training, orientation, Professional Development & School meetings.
∎ To ensure teachers discipline.
∎ To process & forward teachers’ leave applications.
∎ To process & sanction photocopying, store items requisition of teachers.
∎ To ensure that School newsletters are got ready & put up on the website.
∎ To ensure that IT Department keeps the School Website updated.
∎ To get the Annual Magazine ready
∎ To get the prospectus, Teachers’ Diary, Students’ Diary, Assembly book etc. ready.
∎ To liaison with British Council, Cambridge International Examination & ensure that good relations are maintained with these organizations & all teachers are kept abreast with the latest Cambridge Board rules, curriculum etc.
∎ To get the HOD’s to do the Curriculum planning for their respective Departments.
∎ To deal with parents regarding academic related matters of students.
∎ To get the teachers & Heads of Sections & Departments to maintain disciplinary standard among students.
∎ To assist the Principal in Admissions.
∎ To ensure that HOD’s are holding regular Faculty Meetings.
∎ To ensure that the Libraries are being run smoothly by the Librarians.
∎ To get the required Parents-Teachers meetings organized.
∎ To get the HOD’s to ensure that remedial work is being done with weak students.
∎ To keep the Principal informed of all academic /discipline related matters of the School.
∎ To ensure that teachers are using audio visual aids and diverse teaching technique and a variety of teaching techniques.
∎ Assist the Principal with P.R.O work
∎ To ensure that morning assemblies are organized properly
∎ To oversee that co-curricular activities are being organized properly and as per the Calendar.
∎ To look after all administrative matters of the School as deputed by or in absence of The Principal
∎ To oversee the smooth running of the Cafeteria
∎ To advise all Section-Heads on admin and academic issues for smooth running of the School
∎ To follow up with Section Heads/ Accounts regarding fee collection, fee defaulters.
∎ Any other job as assigned by The Principal or Management.
