Responsibilities & Context:

Strategic Leadership & School Management

  • Lead the overall planning, development, and performance of the Junior School (PG–Grade 5)

  • Support the Principal in implementing school-wide strategies, policies, and academic goals

  • Drive continuous improvement in academic standards, student outcomes, and teaching quality

  • Build a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across the Junior School

Academic Excellence & Curriculum Oversight

  • Ensure high-quality curriculum delivery across Early Years and Primary grades

  • Oversee lesson planning, classroom practices, and assessment frameworks

  • Monitor academic progress, learning outcomes, and intervention strategies for students

  • Ensure alignment with international curricula (Cambridge/IB or equivalent, if applicable)

  • Maintain consistency and coordination across all grades and sections

Faculty Leadership & Development

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management of teachers

  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback

  • Oversee teacher appraisals (APR) and professional development plans

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration among staff

Student Well-being & Discipline

  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all students

  • Oversee student discipline, behavior management, and pastoral care systems

  • Monitor arrival, dispersal, break-time supervision, and overall student safety

  • Promote holistic development including social, emotional, and academic growth

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee daily operations of the Junior School, ensuring smooth functioning

  • Manage timetables, academic calendars, and resource allocation

  • Ensure proper maintenance of academic records, reports, and documentation

  • Supervise coordinators, section heads, and support staff

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication and engagement

  • Address parent concerns effectively and conduct orientation sessions

  • Represent the school in meetings, events, and external engagements

Co-curricular & School Events

  • Oversee planning and execution of co-curricular activities, events, and competitions

  • Ensure balanced development of students through academics and extracurricular programs

Admissions & Growth

  • Support student admissions, retention, and enrollment targets for Junior School

  • Collaborate with marketing and admissions teams to promote the school

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Prepare and present regular academic and operational reports to the Principal

  • Track KPIs related to academic performance, staff performance, and student development

  • Use data-driven insights for continuous improvement

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attend SLT meetings, professional development programs, and school events

  • Ensure compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal
