Experience

• At least 3 years progressively responsible work experience in the area of Nutrition Specific and Sensitive Intervention focusing on Maternal and Child Nutrition and CMAM.

• For extra ordinary/promising candidates, experience can be flexible.

Age Limit:

• Maximum up to 35 Years (on 09 Sept 2026), but for highly potential candidate (s) age can be flexible.

Skills: ESSENTIAL

• Ability and willingness to travel to project locations and stay in the field if required

• Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and challenging working conditions

• Excellent spoken and written Local and English languages.

• Good facilitation and mobilization skills.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

PREFERRED

• Experience in closely working in project location is advantageous

• Previous experience working in CMAM is an asset

• Knowledge of local dialects (Cox’s Bazar region dialect is an asset.)

The Programme is jointly funded by UNWFP. SHED is looking for qualified candidates for the post of Upazila Nutrition Coordinator (UNC.

Department- Health and Nutrition

Job Context:

The Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) Program is being implemented successfully in both UKHIYA & TEKNAF upazilas from 2012 under Cox’s Bazar District by Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED) with the technical and financial aids provided from UNWFP. Our project goal is to alleviate the malnutrition rate of HOST COMMUNITY along with improving nutritional status, especially in FDMN affected UKHIA and TEKNAF UPAZILA under the Cox’s Bazar district where SHED provide Nutrition Specific and Sensitive Services maintaining UNWFP core mandates such as Saving Lives, Assets Preservation and Gender.

Report to: Deputy Programme Manager

Supervise to: Union Nutrition Supervisor

Duration: Till 31st Dec-2026.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Implementation of Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) activities in accordance with national CMAM, IYCF, and nutrition guidelines.

• Provide technical guidance and supervision to field teams for quality implementation of CMAM, MAM management, GMP, IYCF, SBCC, cooking demonstrations, and community-based nutrition activities.

• Supervise and support UNSs, CNVs, and Logistic, ensuring achievement of program targets and adherence to SOPs and protocols.

• Ensure proper screening, admission, treatment, referral, follow-up, and discharge of MAM cases.

• Coordinate with Community Clinics, Family Welfare Centres, Upazila Health Complexes, and government health authorities to strengthen nutrition service delivery and referral mechanisms.

• Monitor field performance and nutrition indicators, including screening coverage, admission, CNR, defaulter, relapse, and treatment outcomes, and take corrective actions when required.

• Lead upazila-level planning, distribution, stock management, requisition, and documentation of specialized nutritious foods, oil, IEC materials, and other program supplies.

• Prepare, review, and consolidate daily, weekly, monthly, statistical, narrative, GMP, SBCC, training, visit, and event reports.

• Maintain and verify program databases, beneficiary records, CPDR, stock records, and other documentation to ensure data accuracy and donor compliance.

• Develop activity plans and support MEAL/data teams in extracting and analyzing program data for evidence-based decision-making.

• Organize and facilitate capacity-building, on-the-job training, sensitization, and mentoring for staff, volunteers, government personnel, and community stakeholders.

• Represent the program in upazila-level coordination meetings and maintain effective relationships with government and other stakeholders.

• Support overall program operations including HR, administration, logistics, procurement, transportation, safety, and security.

• Ensure compliance with SHED policies, donor requirements, safeguarding, PSEA, Code of Conduct, confidentiality, and other organizational standards.

• Contribute to strategic planning, problem-solving, conflict management, quality improvement, and overall program management.

• Besides, Deputize Deputy Programme Manager, undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the line manager(s).

• Salary Range: Tk. 77,000 (Seventy-Seven thousand taka only)

• As per Organization/project provision
