Join Dùthchas.

We are a ‘land-based learning’ company with operations in the Scottish Highlands (Hogwarts country). We are starting an office in Bangladesh to:

  • provide infrastructure and support for the Scottish business
  • deepen in-country links within the forestry and farming sectors
  • deliver practical, enjoyable training and education in an underserved market
  • Our long-term goal is to offer people an antidote to the disconnect and fragmentation hyper-modern life encourages. We offer hospitality, workshops and journaling tools and, using a Ghazalian perspective, we aim to build better connections between humans and the natural world.
  • In the medium term, we plan to develop products in the food & beverage and/or paper industries, drawing on Bangladesh’s strengths and mitigating its weaknesses.
  • In the next year, we aim to create a new brand in the health and wellness sector, one rooted in the Gaelic idea of Dùthchas: a place where people belong.
  • Driven by a sense of kinship with those we serve, you will blend an eye for design and sharp production skills with business savvy to plan, produce, and publish content that makes our work visible, meaningful, and trusted.
  • Through thoughtful storytelling and consistent delivery, you will build meaningful relationships with real people and help grow a community that feels connected and alive.
  • You will also teach one day a week. This will help you deepen your own craft and strengthen your connection with the people and ideas that shape our work. The course will cover storytelling, design or a technical skill (eg Illustrator) offering a chance to sharpen your skills and further your professional growth.

Critical to all of these roles is:

  • The ability to manage yourself
  • Work well with others
  • A high standard of spoken and written English

These will be tested as part of the selection process.

  • 20 hours per week
  • Design and deliver our storytelling and community strategy
  • Grow and engage a loyal audience online and offline
  • Lead communications for our offerings and events
  • 10 hours per week
  • Produce video, photo, and written content in Bangla and English
  • Document our daily life and share learning stories
  • Develop campaigns that reflect our values and purpose
  • 5 hours per week
  • Teach one class each week to deepen your own creative practice
  • Support learners in developing storytelling, technical and communication skills
  • Contribute to the professional growth of the teaching team
  • The remaining 5 hours per week are left open for collaboration and new opportunities as the work evolves.
