Minimum 3-5 years of experience in import documentation, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities & Context:
Review and verify import PI or INDENT for accuracy and completeness, including all import shipping documents.
Ensure all documentation complies with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company procedures.
Classify imported goods according to harmonized system (HS) codes.
Communicate effectively with local suppliers’ agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to facilitate the smooth clearance of shipments.
Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems for import documentation.
Research and stay updated on changes to import regulations and procedures.
Identify and resolve any discrepancies in documentation to avoid delays or penalties.
Assist with audits and inspections related to import activities.
Remain flexible and responsive to the company’s evolving needs.
Strong understanding of foreign trade regulations, central bank regulations, customs procedures for pharmaceutical imports in Bangladesh, and import and customs act and relevant regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system used in the company.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla.
