Role Description:-
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Special Educator, based at Nurture Nest in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Special Educator will be responsible for developing and delivering tailored educational plans for students with special needs. Daily tasks include working closely with children and adolescents with disabilities, creating lesson plans, conducting individual and group sessions, monitoring progress, and collaborating with families and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.
Job Responsibilities:-
• Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student’s needs, under the direction of the In-Charge Special Educator.
• Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and support inclusive classroom practices.
• Conduct academic and behavioral assessments; monitor and document student progress regularly.
• Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, counselors, general educators, and parents, to support each student's comprehensive development.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment, using behavior management techniques as guided by the In-Charge.
• Utilize and guide students in the use of assistive technologies and educational tools.
• Promote social skills, independence, and emotional well-being among students.
• Attend regular meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as part of professional development.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including progress reports, communication logs, and documentation required for IEP reviews.
Qualifications:-
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Child Development or related field.
• Relevant Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with special needs are preferred. However, fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. Male candidates will be given preference.
• Strong understanding of developmental disorders such as ASD, ADHD, or learning disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward working with children of all abilities.
Preferred Skills:-
• Experience with assistive technologies or adaptive learning tools.
• Familiarity with developmental therapy.
• Ability to design and conduct parent and teacher training sessions.
