• Bachelor of Science (BSc)

• Age 25 to 45 years

• Direct patient care

• Ensure patients are properly admitted and discharged, and that their health needs are met. This includes planning nursing care and making patient assignments. 

• Supervision and administration

• Ensure the ward is clean and safe, and make duty and work assignments. This also includes identifying and procuring ward supplies and equipment, and regularly checking inventory. 

• Patient and family education

• Provide patients and their families with information about disease prevention and rehabilitation techniques. 

• Record medical history and symptoms

• Record and maintain accurate patient health records to ensure proper treatment. Responsibility and accountability in nursing

• Manage and coordinate the department in the absence of more senior staff.

• This also includes participating in the teaching and supervision of junior staff and student nurses. 

• Responsibility in relation to ward administration

• Act as a liaison officer between ward staff and hospital administration.

• This also includes maintaining good public relations in the ward, dealing appropriately with adverse situations, and maintaining discipline among the personnel.
