∎ This is a 8 month research project. Research field activities will be based in Khulna. This will be a project based position and the main responsibility to select participants, conduct studies, analyze data, prepare reports, conduct FGDs, conduct training and cooking demonstration. In addition have to oversee the production process of fish based products and prepare progress reports as required by the project. The Nutrition Officer will support Feasibility Study and Piloting of Fish Based Products (Fish Chutney & Fish Powder) in Nobo Jatra Working Area.
∎ This is an eight (8) months temporary position
∎ Eligibility, Location and Duration: This position will be based at WorldFish`s Country Office in Khulna, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in December 2019 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence as soon as possible for an initial eight (8) months short term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Production of the two fish-based food products to distribute among approximately 100 women and children for a 3 months period.
∎ Development of an education and social marketing campaign to generate local awareness of and demand for nutritious fish-based food products.
∎ Supervise and conduct training of nutrition field facilitators in collection of data including anthropocentric measures, biochemical nutrition markers and nutritional education.
∎ Conduct focus group discussion (FGD), collect in-depth information for qualitative data, supervise and analyzing of nutritional assessment, growth monitoring activities.
∎ Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation activities drafting / finalizing key Nutrition sectoral program documentation, lessons learned, preparing timely updates, reports and information.
∎ Present relevant to the nutrition component of the program for submission to the senior technical coordinators/project coordinator and ensuring information sharing regularly.
Additional Requirements:
∎ This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:
∎ At least 5 years working experience in nutrition and/or public health.
∎ Experience with training and capacity building in the health and nutrition sector and community education/social marketing activities.
∎ Sets high standards for quality of work and consistently achieves project goals.
∎ Co-ordinates field activities, monitoring and ensuring that responsibilities within the team are clear for reach the project goal.
∎ Fluency in English and Bengali language and ability to write reports in those languages.
∎ Demonstrates, applies and shares expert technical knowledge across the organization.
∎ Ability to analyses and integrates diverse and complex quantitative and qualitative data from a wide range of sources and experience with nutritional assessment, conducting growth monitoring.
∎ Experience with statistical analysis, nutrition research methods and activities.
∎ Strong skills in written and oral English, and able to write and present programme / project implementation, results and future plans.
∎ Ability to collaborate and work together with government, NGOs, research and private partners.
