Experience:
Must have 5-7 years’ work experience in design, planning, monitoring, evaluation and research in development or social justice programming.
Experience in digital data collection tools.
Experience and Proficiency in analytical software SPSS, STATA etc.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ready to visit and stay at remote area.
Conduct and support research related to feminist advocacy issues.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the relevant stakeholders including resource partners as decided in the project description.
Job Context:
Project Overview: The Samaan Aawaaj project focuses on promoting women in leadership roles and strengthening the enabling environment for their meaningful participation in decision-making processes. The initiative targets Indigenous communities, Dalits, and religious minorities. Grounded in a rights-based approach, the program is guided by principles of participation, equity, inclusion, transparency, accountability, and empowerment.
The project seeks to build the capacity of stakeholders to recognize their individual and collective rights and responsibilities, support women’s rights and empowerment, and deliver more equitable and inclusive public services. A strong emphasis is placed on transparency, accountability, equity, and inclusion in governance, with a focus on feminist leadership, advocacy, and citizen-led social accountability.
Job Summary: The Senior Monitoring officer at Samaan Aawaaj will lead regular monitoring activities, data collection, tracking, and analysis for promoting feminist leadership, gender justice, and advocacy for ethnic, Dalit, and religious minorities. This position requires a strong conceptual understanding on intersectionality, women’s leadership, local governance system etc.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and apply quantitative and qualitative monitoring tools and techniques to assess program performance.
Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data on project activities, output and outcomes from field locations.
Design and conduct trend analysis, outcome assessments, and impact studies to evaluate ongoing programs.
Prepare periodic monitoring reports, including half-yearly activity and output reports, as well as an annual results report, ensuring evidence-based reporting to support program decision-making and accountability.
Ensure data reflects the realities and challenges of ethnic minority communities.
Maintain updated records and databases.
Track project implementation against planned activities, indicators, and targets.
Ensure inclusivity and cultural sensitivity in monitoring tools and methods.
Train field staff, and community representatives on participatory monitoring tools, reporting formats, and data quality.
Document lessons learned, success stories, and case studies from ethnic and religious minorities and marginalized communities.
Maintain close contact with ethnic and religious minority, and marginalized communities to ensure their voices are reflected in project monitoring.
Facilitate participatory monitoring with community members to improve accountability.
Ensure project monitoring follows donor requirements and organizational policies.
Check accuracy and consistency of data before submission.
Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in data collection.
Support external evaluators and provide required documentation in case of endline evaluation.
Contribute to knowledge management and learning process.
