Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of antenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care.
  • Knowledge of family planning methods and reproductive health
  • In-depth understanding of the cultural and social context of the Rohingya community to provide respectful and culturally appropriate care.
  • Ability to document and report medical cases accurately.

Responsibilities & Context:

In the context of PHC, SRH services include those for family planning and contraception, prenatal, postpartum, and maternal care, HIV prevention and treatment, STI treatment, and clinical management of GBV. Keeping in mind the particular needs of adolescents, people with disabilities, and those living with HIV, community health initiatives can promote access to and acceptance of these life-saving treatments.

  • Provide comprehensive MCH services to mothers during and after pregnancy, including managing complications and referring high-risk pregnancies.

  • Responsible for delivering babies, preparing birth attestation, and monitoring the general health condition of the mother and the newborn.

  • Provide counseling to mothers on pregnancy and post-pregnancy management, including proper breastfeeding techniques, bathing, and preparation of bottles.

  • Participate in PHC activities including health education, family planning, preparing for childbirth, HCT services and nutrition programs, as well as PMTCT activities at the health facility and within the community.

  • Follow up absentees/defaulters from SRH (ANC, PNC, and FP) services and ensure reach to the hospital.

  • Working with community birth attendants to ensure safe community birthing practices.

  • Running awareness programs in the community.

  • Provide primary care to women of reproductive age in accordance with the Basic package of Health Service.

  • Provide all non-surgical family planning methods and counseling for surgical methods.

  • Ensure babies are immunized according to schedule.

  • Support Clinicians in the management of CMR and GBV cases.

  • Monitor the consumption of drugs and equipment required for maternity activities and notify the supervisor of re-stocking needs.

  • Ensure biomedical equipment is in good working order by using it by the user manual and protocols, perform cleaning and minor maintenance, and alert the supervisor in case of malfunctioning.

  • Ensure hygiene and sterilization criteria, including universal precautions are met.

  • Autoclave instruments regularly and maintain a register.

  • Ensure data collected is accurate and submit reports according to the schedule.

  • Maintain medical practices with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to professional and MTI Code of Conduct

  • Keeping knowledge of professional midwifery principles, procedures, and techniques.

  • Keeping knowledge of medical and non-medical waste disposal procedures.

  • Keeping knowledge of hygiene management and IPC protocol

  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and adhere to the professional code of conduct.

  • Ability to maintain detailed records with high accuracy.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
