∎ Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes
∎ • Minimum 07 years’ experience; with 05 years’ work experience in the field of campaigns, engagement, outreach, and communication activities preferable for a development organisation.
∎ • Demonstrated ability of content development and design – with aptitude in different content development software and graphic design suites.
∎ • Experience and ability to successfully implement communications activities within budget and quality in alignment with organisational strategic goals for various projects in blisteringly urgent time frames.
∎ • Exceptional copy writing, editing, written and verbal communications skills in English and Bengali
∎ • In-depth knowledge of the WASH sector, including international standards and best practices.
∎ • Experience in using different forms of media (such as email, websites, social media and physical publications) to deliver high quality information to different audiences synthesising from key research and evidence documents
∎ • Highly organised with an ability to meet deadlines and manage many competing priorities and stakeholder requirements
∎ • Aware of emerging communication trends and provide instant effective solution to communication needs for diverse audience
∎ • Must be passionate about campaign, audience engagement and fundraising.
∎ • Proficiency in digital communication tools and analytics platforms, with a knack for leveraging technology to enhance engagement.
∎ • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, team leadership, and stakeholder management.
∎ • Creative and analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Job Purpose
∎ This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing communication plans for WASH centered projects, programmes, and strategic initiatives of WaterAid Bangladesh. Increasing engagement with key audiences through communications strategy, effective storytelling, content strategy and production of publications is critical along with building WaterAid’s stakeholder relationships across different sectors partners. This position also coordinates social media, website content and different traditional and digital campaigns/ advocacy to increase WASH visibility. This role involves managing a dynamic team, crafting impactful content, and driving campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.

∎ Key Responsibilities
∎ 1. Team Leadership and Development: Guide and mentor a dedicated communications team, setting clear goals and fostering an environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
∎ 2. Strategic Communication Planning: Craft and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that includes measurable objectives for increasing engagement and raising awareness about WASH issues. Support the development and implementation of projects and programmes communication strategies and public awareness activities under the guidance of line manager.
∎ 3. Content Creation and Storytelling: Oversee the production of compelling content that combines data-driven insights and beneficiary testimonials to showcase the WaterAid's impact. Ensure all content aligns with our mission and brand voice. Support the production of various BCC materials, annual report, blogs, social media, and web content.
∎ 4. Campaign Management: Design and implement targeted campaigns with specific engagement or advocacy goals, utilising both traditional and digital platforms to reach and mobilise various stakeholders.
∎ 5. Public Relations and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and partners to enhance our visibility and support for WASH initiatives. Manage crisis communication to uphold the WaterAid's reputation. Ensure that all external communications including publications, marketing materials, merchandise and online content are consistent with WaterAid’s brand guidelines.
∎ 6. Event Planning and Execution: Lead the organisation of events that effectively convey our mission, engage our audience, and foster community support, ensuring each event is aligned with our strategic objectives.
∎ 7. Supplier Management: Engage and foster good supplier relationships and work to expand the range of suppliers for different communications deliverables.
∎ 8. Brand Stewardship: Maintain the integrity of our brand across all communication channels, ensuring consistency and coherence in messaging and visual representation. Support project to collect stories, case studies, photos, and videos, and coordinate or commission content as needed.
∎ 9. Analytics and Impact Evaluation: Utilise digital analytics tools to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies, adjusting tactics as needed to maximise outreach and impact. Monitor and evaluate the success of communications activities and regularly report to the Line Manager/CMT on KPIs and key projects
∎ 10. Manage WaterAid’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube): Create organic content and moderate online communities. Also manage website content and upload content and articles to the WaterAid website.

∎ Undertake any specific work as assigned by the line manager and/or WA authority as per need of the organisation. These responsibilities will be reviewed with the line manager from time to time.

∎ Willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh is required. (10% to 50% time should be dedicated to travels depending on situations).

∎ Includes but not limited, work closely with members of Communications team, and other colleagues from Programmes, Policy, Advocacy, Technical, Business Development teams on a day-to-day basis. Also maintain working relationship with colleagues from other departments/teams within WaterAid, the South Asia regional and UK, and partner/collaborating organisations.
