Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Financial Management: Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
∎ Accounts Management: Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries. Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
∎ VAT Compliance: Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Keep up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and implement necessary adjustments in the accounting practices.
∎ Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances between actuals and forecasts, and providing insights to improve financial planning.
∎ Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for financial decision-making.
∎ Audit & Internal Controls: Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
∎ Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, VAT accounts, and other financial ledgers to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.
∎ Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and guidance, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals and objectives.
∎ Cost Control: Monitor and control company expenditures, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
∎ Professional certification (e.g., CA, CMA, ACCA) is preferred.Experience Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and VAT management.
∎ Prior experience in a senior accounting role will be an added advantage.Skills:
∎ Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and VAT compliance.
∎ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
∎ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
∎ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
