∎ Age 25 to 40 years
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide first aid to any student who suffers injuries in school.
∎ Keep ice packs, bandages, antiseptic cream and other emergency related materials ready and stocked at all times.
∎ Record timing of student entry into the First Aid Room and inform the Class Teacher immediately. If Class Teacher is not available, report to the respective school heads (of Preschool, Middle School or High School).
∎ Take temperatures, bandage wounds, and carry out other healthcare procedures for students and any other staff member.
∎ Have in-depth knowledge about basic medication and dosage that may need to be administered to students.
∎ Ensure through the class teacher that parents have been informed about any accidents or injuries that took place within the school compound.
∎ Provide referrals for students to pediatricians and other health specialists, when necessary.
∎ Keep track of students’ medical histories and other paperwork, including vaccination records.
∎ Plan and implement school health management protocols and procedures, for both routine and emergency situations.
∎ Teach students healthy habits like the importance of handwashing and other lifelong skills, while they are stationed in the First Aid room.
∎ Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in nursing/ medical/ or any other equivalent field. 2-3 years experience working in a clinical or healthcare setting.
∎ BLS/CPR certification.
∎ Current and updated nursing certification by regulatory board.
