USTC, a pioneering private university in Bangladesh, founded by National Professor Dr Nurul Islam, is located at the picturesque site near Foy’s Lake, Chattogram. Since its inception, this university has unwrapped a new sphere and a new scope in pedagogic and industrial fields of Medicine, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and Business and Entrepreneurial Sciences in Chattogram, in Bangladesh, and in the region.
The Registrar of the university provides leadership and oversight to all aspects of the Office of the Registrar. He plays a critical role in the University and Academic operations by effectively maintaining integrity of all academic records, approved curriculum, course schedules, all areas of student registration, recording and reporting of grades, compliance with the UGC and BAC regulations, and processes for the equitable and consistent administration of policies and procedures.He must provide strong leadership consistent with the academic goals and mission of the institution in collaboration with all faculty members, officers and staff of the university.

Job Responsibilities
The Registrar shall be responsible for the overall administration, academic record management, and regulatory compliance of the University. Key responsibilities include:
Manage staff and oversee the daily operations of the Office of the Registrar.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor administrative functions to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Act as custodian of all official records, documents, archives, and university assets (movable and immovable).
Prepare and manage the annual budget of the Registrar’s Office in collaboration with the Treasurer.
Supervise the registration of undergraduate and postgraduate students, including admissions processing, fee structures, scholarships, awards, credit transfers, and degree evaluations in accordance with Academic Ordinances.
Ensure integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and security of all academic records of current and former students.
Develop and maintain an efficient degree audit system and oversee certification for graduation/clearance in collaboration with the Controller of Examinations.
Manage transcript evaluation and processing efficiently.
Maintain up-to-date academic calendars, course schedules, catalogs, and examination.
Interpret and enforce academic policies, rules, and regulations as per University statutes and relevant regulatory bodies (UGC, BAC, MoE).
Ensure institutional compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting obligations.
Stay updated with trends, regulations, and technological advancements to improve Registrar’s Office operations.
Work closely with Admissions and Academic Administration to ensure smooth transition of admitted students to registered status.
Collaborate with IQAC to maintain curriculum management systems and publish academic materials (catalogs, reports, journals).
Coordinate with the Controller of Examinations on academic processes and certifications.
Maintain records of local and international collaborations.
Oversee and manage legal matters related to the University.
Maintain liaison with foreign embassies, industries, and relevant stakeholders.
Maintain close coordination with the Board of Trustees (BoT).
Coordinate and manage meetings and activities of Academic Council (AC), Syndicate, Disciplinary Committee, and Finance Committee.
Organize central events such as Orientation and Convocation in collaboration with relevant committees.
Serve on academic, management, and Trust committees as required.
Ensure optimal utilization of classrooms and availability of teaching-learning facilities and equipment.
Perform any other duties assigned by the authority.
Be available for duties during evenings and weekends when required.
