Experience:

• At least 2 years

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)

• MBBS or equivalent medical graduation with Diploma in ultrasonography/sonology from an accredited academic institution.

• Medical knowledge- to take the best possible images, Sonologists use not only their expertise, but also their in-depth understanding of the human body, as well as how injuries and disease affect the body. This helps them better understand the images produced

• At least 2 years

• Technical expertise- ability to work with a wide range of technological equipment, which requires technical understanding

• Critical thinking- every patient is different and no two medical conditions present themselves in the same way, but a radiologist uses their analytical abilities to look at each patient’s case individually and adjust their procedures to suit the patient.

Experience Requirement:

• Minimum two years of experience in Ultrasonological work in any private or public hospital,

• Knowledge and understanding of computerized information systems Knowledge and experience of working in public health sector in humanitarian crisis will be an added advantage.

• Previous work in Government health system will add value to the position.

• Working experience in Cox’s Bazar district and/or knowledge of the Undocumented Myanmar Nationals and Rohingya refugees will be a plus.

• Performing all types of ultrasound/ultrasonography as per the advices of the physicians to help diagnose illnesses and conditions including obstetric and gynaecological cases

• Ensuring quality of test with special focus on that the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctly

• The Ultrasonologist will also ensure the patient is positioned to get the clearest and most accurate image possible

• Making sure and the ultrasound gel is spread on the surface of the patient’s body to cover the internal area being imaged

• Taking consent and explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients in order to avoid confusion

• Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients in order to avoid confusion and unnecessary complaints

• Maintaining ultrasound equipment with proper care and servicing and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes place

• Evaluating the images for their quality, and interpreting what the image captured

• Preparing reports of ultrasounds done and presenting images and preliminary findings to the physicians and the health care team

• Maintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure

• Sadar Hospital operates 24 hours a day, thus the Sonologist may need to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends or duties in shift.

• Ensuring uninterrupted supplies of logistics (gel, printing papers) necessary for continued sonography services.

• Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Monthly gross salary for this position is BDT 120,860.00.
