About us

At Pentex, integrity is at the heart of everything we do; from the way we work through to the products we create. Combining creative design with responsible and ethical practices, we deliver fashion solutions that are built for today and ready for the future.

Since our beginnings in East London in the 1960s, Pentex has grown into a global design and manufacturing partner. Throughout that journey, one value has remained constant: doing the right thing.

We believe in doing what’s right, putting our customers first and holding ourselves to high standards in everything we do. Every partnership we build, every garment we produce and every order we deliver reflects our commitment to working with honesty, care and integrity which is the ethos that continues to define the Pentex way.

The Role

Would you like to join an innovative company where you’ll be responsible for making sure that every garment we produce meets Pentex and customer quality standards? Reporting to the QA Manager and working closely with the Head of Quality & Technical, the Quality Assurance Officer will monitor quality at our 3rd party factories in Dhaka, from fabric inspection right through to shipment. You will carry out inspections at every stage of production, check samples before they are sent to customers, work hand in hand with factory teams to fix issues at source, and track defect trends so that problems are prevented rather than repeated.

Main Responsibilities

·       Monitor quality at partner factories at every stage of production (fabric and trims, cutting, sewing, finishing and packing) through to ex-factory, making sure all styles meet the required standard and follow Pentex SOPs.

·       Carry out fabric and trims inspections (including the 4-point system), and check shade, shrinkage and test results before bulk cutting is approved.

·       Attend pre-production meetings with factory teams to review tech packs, approved samples, customer comments and critical points before bulk production starts.

·       Conduct inline inspections and in-process checks on the production line, identifying defects early and agreeing corrective actions with the factory.

·       Carry out final inspections to AQL standards, accurately recording results and passing or failing shipments in line with customer and Pentex requirements.

·       Check all samples (fit, size set, pre-production and shipment samples) before they are sent to customers, making sure workmanship, measurements and presentation meet the required standard.

·       Always follow customer quality manuals as well as Pentex systems and procedures, keeping up to date with each customer’s specific requirements.

·       Review technical documentation, including design and tech packs, measurement specifications and sample comments, as guided by the QA Managers and Head of Quality & Technical.

·       Work cooperatively with factory production and quality teams, building strong relationships and coaching them to raise standards and get it right first time.

·       Record all quality issues accurately and on time, analysing defect trends and recommending methods to eliminate recurrence.

·       Follow up corrective action plans with factories and check that agreed improvements have been put in place and are working.

·       Escalate promptly to your manager if quality declines or if a shipment is at risk, providing clear facts and suggested solutions.

·       Produce clear inspection reports and quality updates for the QA Manager, merchandising team and UK head office as required.

·       Where no final inspection is scheduled, carry out inline inspections, sample checking or other quality tasks as instructed by the QA Managers.

·       Support customer and third-party inspections and audits, making sure factories are prepared and any findings are followed up.

·       Help ensure product safety, labelling and packing requirements are met, including needle and sharp tools control, metal detection, care labels and carton marking, etc.

·       Keep all company and customer information strictly confidential.

·       Any other business-related tasks assigned by the line manager or company management.

Key Skills and Behaviours

·       Detail-oriented – extremely thorough and accurate; spots defects and inconsistencies that others might miss.

·       Analytical thinker – uses inspection data and defect trends to understand root causes, not just symptoms.

·       Problem solver – strong at identifying problems quickly and working with factories on practical solutions.

·       Self-motivated and independent – highly motivated and self-directed, able to manage your own inspection schedule and work with minimal supervision.

·       Organised multi-tasker – able to juggle inspections, samples and reports across several styles and factories at once.

·       Collaborative – works confidently with cross-functional teams, including factory, merchandising, sampling and technical colleagues.

·       Integrity – stands by quality decisions under pressure, always doing the right thing for the customer and for Pentex.

·       Positive team player – a strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.

Your Experience

·       3+ years’ quality assurance or quality control experience in garment manufacturing or a buying house.

·       Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, washes and production processes.

·       Proven experience carrying out inline and final inspections to AQL standards.

·       Experience of fabric inspection (4-point system) and an understanding of fabric and garment testing requirements.

·       Able to read and interpret tech packs, measurement charts and customer quality manuals.

·       Experience working to UK or European retail customers’ quality standards (an advantage).

·       Good understanding of product safety and social compliance requirements in factories.

·       Good written and spoken English and Bangla, with the ability to write clear, accurate inspection reports.

·       Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

·       Degree or diploma in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing or a related subject (preferred).

·       Willing to travel regularly to partner factories across Bangladesh.
