Job Context:
∎ Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is one of the leading development organizations in Bangladesh. Health is one of the core sectors of DAM. This sector is running drug treatment and rehabilitation centers and implementing Primary Health Care Program along with its other program like Tobacco Control Program, communicable and non-communicable diseases prevention, TB control, mental health care and providing health services to Rohingya people living in Bangladesh, Health sector of DAM is implementing a project titled "Health and Nutrition Voucher Scheme for Poor, Extreme Poor and Socially Excluded People" urban health care support -Voucher Scheme - a new approach on health care promotion.
∎ Now-a-days, NCDs are a rising threat in Bangladesh. Non-Communicable Diseases have shown a dramatic rise in recent times which demands advance research, and awareness. NCDs tend to be of long duration, and are the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental, and behavioral factors. This is a significant social and economic issue. NCDs can result in families losing their primary earner thus resulting in poverty, and withdrawal of family members from employment and education opportunities. Medication is not the only way out. Some diseases can be prevented by lifestyle modification, environmental changes, and dietary habits. The Project is going to recruit a "Project Officer-NCD" - a competent and self-motivated individual for the position.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall responsible for smooth running of the respective area with implementation of project activities as required by project management.
∎ Regularly communicate & develop good relation with local level stakeholders (GO and NGOs) for ensuring field level activity, advocacy in support of project implementation.
∎ Supervise relevant project staffs to carry out activities related to awareness building, community mobilization, capacity building of PHSPs and stakeholders in project area.
∎ Coordinate, negotiate, cooperate and maintain a good relation with team members both in organizations and local stakeholders to update accordingly.
∎ Provide technical support to area manager for routine program implementation.
∎ Assist project management team to develop systematic and realistic action plans that capture project line on NCD.
∎ Conduct training needs assessment (TNA), develop and review training curriculums and training materials, plan training calendar and organize training programs. Ensure timely production and submission of training reports.
∎ Assist to prepare/supervise the monthly and quarterly reports of all activities with consultation of area manager and other concerned staff
∎ Ensure documentation of specific work and prepare work plan, progress report of relevant area and share with area manager and team on monthly basis.
∎ Support Qualitative Data collection and assessment as per program requirement.
∎ Ensure available IEC/BCC materials to reach target groups.
∎ Undertake supportive supervision visits to the project areas and provide on-job training to project staff member.
∎ Perform other duties as and when necessary/needed or assigned to you.
Additional Requirements:
∎ The candidate should have at least two (02) years' experience in a development organization of which at least two (02) years on Health and Nutrition, NCD and NGO health management and advocacy issues in any reputed organization
Salary: Tk. 33500 (Monthly)
