∎ Since 2009 in Bangladesh, Room to Read has been implementing education support Programs in low-income and remote communities in Cox’s Bazar, Dhaka, Moulvibazar, Narail, Natore and Jhalakathi districts. Till 2023, we have supported the education of more than 0.4 million children in Primary and 7,386 girls in Secondary schools. We are proud to have worked with DPE, NCTB, NAPE, DSHE, a2i as well as national radio and TV in executing scalable and systemic initiatives to eradicate illiteracy and embed life-skills.
∎ UN World Food Programme (WFP) has entrusted Room to Read to implement a 5-year literacy intervention titled ‘McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program’ funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for over 31 thousand students of 149 Government Primary Schools in Madhabpur, Habiganj. As the education technical partner Room to Read Bangladesh will deliver interventions to enhance students’ literacy skills from Pre-Primary up to Grade 5.
∎ The Project Director will lead the successful implementation of the USDA McGovern-Dole funded school feeding program’s literacy improvement component in Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj district. The role involves providing strategic direction, overseeing program delivery, managing partnerships, and ensuring alignment with Room to Read’s mission and goals. The Project Director will work closely with education stakeholders, government agencies, Room to Read country office and project teams to achieve the project’s objectives, ensuring the program’s sustainability and scalability. This position is based in Habiganj and will report to the Country Director of Room to Read Bangladesh.
